What I love about Ledger as Joker, is that you cant even tell its Ledger. He has completely took on the character. There is a difference between playing a part, and becoming a part. Ledger has become Joker. From the look, to the voice, to the laugh. Everything about Ledger as Joker is perfect. He really nailed this part. And in my opinion, this is what separates Ledger and Nicholson. Jack Nicholson, in my mind didn't play The Joker. Jack Nicholson played Jack Nicholson in face paint. Ledger on the other hand, is completely immersed in this character, bringing out Joker's insanity, and just all around bringing the character to life. Well said. While Nicholson's the best actor ever, his Joker didn't take much skill. He acts like that at award shows. And yeah, Maggie Gyllenhaal's too "homely" for a tang-magnet like Bruce Wayne. Every time I say the same thing to friends or whoever when we talk about the Batman movies, I get "oh, he was perfect" but he wasn't. Its iconic only because no one had really done him before and no one has tried since. Its like Bond....no one could debate Connery was the best until after someone else did it. Not that Jack sucked...it just was Jack playing Jack as a homicidal maniac. Ledger's is chilling...almost more how Mark Hamill voiced the cartoon version. He doesnt look as comic accurate but that whole "this guy is truly  ing nuts and unpredictable" is very much intact. I don't see why it can't be better than Begins. Bale should be comforable as Batman, we don't have to deal with his origin, and as good as Cillian Murphy was...Sandman is no Joker. |

He doesnt look as comic accurate but that whole "this guy is truly ing nuts and unpredictable" is very much intact. Yeah, it doesn't matter that he doesn't look exactly like the comics. All that matters is he has white skin, green hair, red lips, purple suit, and is a nut case. And I don't know why I didn't clue in before, but perhaps the black around the eyes is inspired by B:TAS Joker? |

In news that everyone will get a boner like me over the script has been leaked =] someone on the imdb forums has it, and everything seems to check out. One scene has the Joker putting the FUN in FUN-eral and it sounds boner-worthy

Yeah, I'll stay away from the script. The people on the IMDb forums are total bullshitters, if one person has it then everyone would have it. About Joker trembling when Batman approaches him, he also doesn't seem to know how to work the bazooka-dealie in the trailer. He's a clumsy wuss of a bad guy!

The actress who plays Rachel in this film (Maggie Gyllenhall) was pregnant when they filmed this so maybe thats why she appears to have a baby bump anyways I saw the trailer before I Am Legend and it was incredible. |
