For all you metal heads out there, what are some of your favorite breakdowns. Post a link to them if you can so others can enjoy them. Here's one of my favs Between the buried and me: Autodidact The breakdown is 4:38 into the song.

Sort of like Metallica's relevance in music past 1990?

Breakdowns are purely a cheesefactor nowadays. Suicide Silence tends to do them well. I can't help but like any of their's that are introduced with Family Guy quotes. Those guys know how to sell shirts.

Not my favorite band at all but the breakdown for Eighteen Visions' song "Tower of Snakes" has always been one of my faves.

Toxic Narcotic - Only the Wrong Survive
And
Watch Me Burn - The Wolf that Ate the Sun (really GREAT breakdown, soft funky trippy **** that blasts right back into some amazing female fronted grindcore)

metallica has sucked **** since before you were a twinkle in your daddy's eye, come to think about it To each his own, I suppose. It has become trendy to 'hate' Metallica, even though every metal fan liked them at one point in time during their lifetime. Whether they want to admit it or not, Metallica was a big reason that a lot of people are into the music that they're into now.

No Domination!?
Domination by Pantera
Any breakdowns in Lamb of God
Any Acacia Strain song because....most of their songs ARE breakdowns with the exception on 'The Widowmaker'

What the hell's a breakdown? I'm not too hip with scene lingo. Is that like a solo? It's when the song goes from "JUGJUGITYJUGJUGITYJUGJUGITYJUG" to "JUGJUGJUGJUGJUGJUG" and all the kids go nuts.

Whether they want to admit it or not, Metallica was a big reason that a lot of people are into the music that they're into now. i own and listen to ride the lightening, kill em all, mop, and even the black album and the occasional garage inc song from time to time... i enjoy metallica. it doesnt mean im gonna be annoying like half of the metallica fans on this board, and pretend nothing outside of Metallica/Megadeth exists. and that james hetfield kid is one of the worst people on the boards when it comes to that...
