It's still somewhat of a big deal. It wouldn't be in a different generation where people read more, but the average person nowadays probably didn't read this book/have any clue it was a book. I can't even find people that new it was a remake of Omega Man/Last Man on Earth.

Except, of course, for The Natural. Well, OK, it may have ruined the book in a different way...but at least it doesn't spoil the ending of the book. |
