705 My Growing Pains J.D. decides that it's time to stop acting like a baby so he can take care of one, but when he stops participating in pranks Turk starts a mission to bring his buddy back to immaturity. While, J.D. tries to play the adult Dr. Cox, much to Carla's protest, feels the need to deliver sobering news -- which causes a young patient to grow up too fast. Elsewhere, Eliot is on a mission to throw Kelso a birthday party, but little does she know that revealing his true age will set in motion some big changes for Sacred Heart.

I declare this episode the best episode since "My Lunch." Turk/JD on the park bench was golden, Hooch is always gold, the Janitor was even better than usual, Kelso's funny voice addition was a nice touch, and I have no choice but to feel bad for the guy being forced into retirement. I expected it ever since I first read the episode synopsis, and I was afraid tonight would be his last night as Chief of Medicine. Fortunately, given what that guy said at the end of the episode, he should be able to finish out the rest of the season.

Why does every show have an episode called Growing Pains?

I'm kinda upset he won't be Chief anymore, but maybe for the last episode ever, Cox will be awarded Chief of Medicine or something. God damn Hooch was awesome tonight. Dare I say it, Hooch is crazy. My favorite part of this episode was where JD and Turk were sitting on the bench though, and JD started making Sammy do the cabbage patch and the ass spanking thing, so damn funny. I also loved Ted tonight, anywhere from the getting pressured into doing things, to the buying of the Hanukkah decorations.

Even though he's acted as if he hated him through the entire series, I wouldn't be suprised to see Kelso given the choice to pick who gets the chief of medicine job, only to actually CHOOSE Cox to be his successor.

I'm sure that if that kid had anything other than leukemia, Cox would've kept his mouth shut. But leukemia's a bit of a sensitive subject for him.
And on an unrelated note...Hooch is crazy.

I think one of the best exchanges from the episode was:
Carla: "TMI, too much information, right Josh?!" Cox: "Ok, I'm gonna let you talk to 90s catch phrases nurse while I go talk to your parents."

Caramel Bear was the dude who played Pedro in Napolean Dynamite if I'm not mistaken. Funny stuff.
