Uh, why is there going to be a new Star Wars movie in the first place?

Talk about beating a dead horse. Isn't the Star Wars series dead yet?? They keep making all these new Star Wars movies and it just keeps tarnishing the originals. I've never seen the newest three movies and I don't want to and I sure as hell wouldn't see this one either.
Kudos to Harrison Ford for sticking to his guns and turning down this deal. I wouldn't want to be in another Star Wars movie anyway, no matter what they were paying me. He certainly doesn't need the 47 million. He'll make that with the profits off his new Indiana Jones movie in no time, so I'm glad he turned this Star Wars stuff down.

JESUS CHRIST HE TURNED DOWN 47...MILLION DOLLARS? Yeah, although that's a HUGE sum of money, he must really hate the Star Wars series or being known as the Han Solo character to turn down that kind of deal.

It kinda sucks he wont be in it. (I didn't even know they were making another one!) I'm actually really interested to see where they're going with this. Of course they'll suck because Star wars had something that was unique; A Villain which turned out to be a hero in the begining so we had to see why he went bad. Unless Lucas allready plotted this entire thing out, it's gonna suck. bad.

They're making a new one? Maybe they're mixing it up with the TV show.

This sounds fake, I checked MSN Entertainment and there's no mention of this.

Aside from the fact that I think the highest salary, just regular salary for a movie is like 20-25$ million, 47$ is just hard to believe, especially w/o a link

good. star wars is all milked-out anyway. the lack of original cast will just mean less people will waste money seeing it and help prove to lucas what a dumb idea it is to make more.

Glad to hear it's fake. Because to turn down 47 million, no matter how rich one already may be, is ridiculous.
Though I think I would be interested in seeing an all new Star Wars trilogy that took place many years after Return of the Jedi. I could be alone in that thought, but oh well.

I wanted to know what happened after much more than I wanted a prequel.

Chappelle turned down 50 million to do another season of his show.
Ford's probably getting 48 million for Indy Jones.

Spin off Star Wars? Don't ruin the damn series. Either make it take place in the Knights of the Old Republic time frame, or don't do it at all.

This sounds fake, I checked MSN Entertainment and there's no mention of this. This was reported a few days ago, I got the info from a Star Wars forum, I forgot to check it.
