Does anyone else have an interest in seeing this? It stars the Rock, Sean William Scott, Justin Timberlake, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Mandy Moore, and that fat guy from the subway commercials and the benchwarmers. It looks very well written. Its by Richard Kelly, who also did Donnie Darko. I do believe Justin Timberlake is a phenomenal actor (ever since I saw Alpha Dog) and the Rock is good in action movies. Btw, the trailer clearly shows you the Rock has gotten even more tattoos, so prepare to be bomarded with people doing customs of a up to date rock. www.apple.com/trailers/independent/southlandtales/ |

Those tattoo's were added for the movie. He's said in many interviews. He hasent added anything new.
But yeah the movie looks good. Its had some bad reviews... but wont stop me from going to see it.

I hope my theater gets it tomorrow, if not Friday. It's one of the movies I've been looking forward to all year. Knowing my theater though, we'll get a bad horror movie or they'll put the Comebacks back in instead.

I rarely ever go see anything in theaters, but I'll watch it when it comes out on DVD solely because it's Kelly's follow-up to Donnie Darko.

After the weekend we'll know how likely it is to expand, depending on the per-screen-average. My bet is it's not going to be high though, there has been little promotion, it's not exactly a type of film that will draw huge audiences on its own, especially since it's only opening in 2 cities.

I am looking forward to this movie but unfortunatly none of the theatres around me will be playing this movie. I am kinda disappointed that they are not promoting it very good, i haven't even seen 1 commercial for it and the only talk show The Rock is going to be on is Ellen.

Well Jo Blo blows anyway. The guys who run the site bash almost anything, all they did when Hot Rod was coming out was bash Samberg. Then they interviewed Samberg, Jorma, and Akiva and treated them like they're comedic geniuses. If they thought they were SO unfunny, they wouldn't bother interviewing them. That site's opinion is worth nothing. |
