While you do need talent, I think that drawing is more of a skill. It can be learned. You just have to practice A LOT. Drawing books couldn't hurt either, but I know that not everyone benefits from them. You'll have to figure that part out for yourself.

Try art, that may help with maybe a technique of drawing & may help you improve. Does your school have art or just drawing? look for a teacher in your community to help teach if you want. Like mentioned before the books won't hurt either.

I used to draw a LOT when I was promoting concerts, every flyer design was hand drawn like a lot of 80's hardcore **** was... I basically got tired of seeing so many damn ****ty photoshop jobs. I was self-taught, here's a few of my favorites (pencil, ink pen, sharpie):

Edit: Just remembered I had this on my hard drive, easily the best I ever did, it was drawn in 2006, based on the Predator bust released by (I think) Sideshow Collectibles.

People say I'm amazing at drawing, but I personally think I suck. I'm terrible at drawing things to proportion.

I guess I do, I use to win drawing contests when I was a kid, and my guidance consular gave me a scholarship to an art school when I was in 4th grade. But since junior high, I really havent drawn anything. I lost interest in it and I dont feel that my drawings are ever good enough.

it obviously helps to have natural talent, but you can learn to draw fairly competently if you practice enough. if you have no idea where to start the best thing for you to do is go get some books that show how to draw stuff you want to...there's tons of different categories of drawing books from cars to people to cartoons to wildlife, etc. that take you thru step by step & after awhile you'll get better, it just takes practice. here is some stuff i've done that i have on my comp...i learned to draw using only books pretty much......
