shoving Christianity down my throat.
She never stops trying to prove to me that every band I listen to worships Satan. Nirvana, Nine inch Nails, Marilyn Manson (No crapright?), Killswitch Engage, Korn, Disturbed, etc.
Her proof? She shows me the John Lee Clary bullshit. *This is the same guy who claims Chris Benoit and his family WAS KILLED BY A SATANIC CULT*
I do believe in God, but I refuse to be "Christian", because it seems to be less about love and more about proving everyone out to be evil.
Any way anyone can help?

Well the topic "Im sick of my mother" will draw some attention but just tell her Mom, I do belive in god but i just dont want to be a christian, im growing up and i cant always be momma's little boy, but please just let me listen to the music i want to listen to, and i still will be that same little boy.

What kind of wacky form of Christianity does your mother practice? No where in the bible does it dictate what sort of music you can or cannot listen to. Get her a bible and point her to John 8:7, "Let he who is without sin, cast the first stone". If you were my son however, I'd be more upset at your horrible taste in music?

Seriously though, i'm a goth, so i've had alot of the same thing.

Considering most of songs are about god Or even Cradle Of Filth, Lamb Of God or if you want to seem like a poseur, EyeHateGod. She will comment on how they can't spell and this must be a result of satanism. If on the other hand, you want her to understand it's not every band that worships satan as it were, whack on some Ultimatum, who are Christian Metal, good even though most of their songs talk about religion. |

Ive never had that kind of problem with my parents.
I think Hip-Hop is worse than Metal, since they are shooting each other cause they don't live at the same street and stuff. I find it stupid.

Any way anyone can help? I dont know how old you are. But as children, our parents try to instill certain beliefs and values in us. Its called "doing their job as parents." If they didnt, kids would grow up with no values. As we get older, we begin to understand more of what our parents taught us. Now that doesnt mean you agree with it or that you live your life the exact way your parents do. But they have instilled a guideline and you decide more about what you believe and how you feel. They can only past down the knowledge and belief they have. If you dont agree with it.....so be it. But dont ignore what they are teaching you. It will help you decide in the future why you dont believe in it and why you believe the way you do. |
