Lance Armstrong
The strongest athlete(mentally and physically) in American History.

I wouldn't argue too much with that. Guy was fast and had a good eye and good reflexes. Ted Williams might've been as good a ballplayer as Cobb if the War didn't cut his career short.

Lance Armstrong The strongest athlete(mentally and physically) in American History. I'm going to have to agree with you. But Ali trails in second place.

There is no way Lance Armstrong is the greatest American athlete. No way at all. He's a bicyclist. The guy has a lot of stamina, but that's it. What does he do that illustrates his incredible eye-hand coordination? What does he do that illustrates his great speed? What does he do to demonstrate his agility?
A great athlete (in my mind) is a guy who has great speed, eye hand coordination, stamina and agility. Ali had all of those. Namath had all but probably the speed. Cobb had all of those. Lance Armstrong has stamina. That's it.

He and my dad were supposed to be drafted on the same day, so...we don't talk about him in the house.

My favorite memory of ol Broadway Joe......
And the best athlete in history was Babe Ruth. Anyone that could play ball that great on a full stomach, drunk and well overweight HAS to be the best
