Is it a nice town? Are there jobs available in or near it? Does it snow at all?

I live pretty close to El Paso, which is right on the border, and while it doesn't snow often, they do get there fair share. ...just because some of Texas is desert, and on the great plains doesn' t mean it won't snow.

What do you mean around the border by mexico it doesn't snow? It snows here every single year. Multiple times through out the season occasionaly.

I don't know anything about Freeport itself, however it looks like its about an hour out of Houston and Houston has good jobs. I'm sure something would be available in Freeport as well. Snow is unlikely, but may occur. I live in the Austin area and we got Snow last year. Only thing I see wrong with it, you'll be on the coast. Which means lots of rain, potential Hurricane and Tropical weather.

Freeport: Not much going on there unfortunately
I live in Houston, I work for a company that has a station out in Freeport. There's nothing to do there and I doubt you'll find a fantastic job there
