It's safe but not 100%. I had one for about 6 years then about 2 months ago mine got hacked and somebody spent about $800 from my bank account. It was cleared up in about a day but still it's a pain in the ass to have to deal with. I'm not trying to lead you away from using it just letting you know you are not 100% safe from hackers... then again I don't think you ever are.

LL DJ, Just register. Its safer than anything else. The only time i ever had a problem was when i got an email off "paypal" saying my account had been frozen or something and i had to sign in and do something to fix it. I'm very foggy about the email, but i knew it sounded very dodgy and the email address was internation@paypal.ie or something, and that was odd too. So anyway, i went to the link of paypal.com that was included in the email and the minute it brought me through to paypal.com (it was an exact replica of paypal.com) a bubble flashed up on my screen saying something like "Did you notice the authentication code? Beware of entering passwords or personal information on this page as it may not be secure." (something along those lines anyway). So the minute someone tried to get my personal info i realised and even my PC knew. So its as safe as it gets really. I used to send postal orders, and the time i'd spend waiting on people to get postal orders, then the worry that it might have gotten lost in the post, then the person has to go and change it.. its just not worth it. I'd highly recommend paypal. Besides, why would you worry about entering your personal info? you did it for your email address... just go for it man.. the chances of being scammed are very slim. and if you're actually cautious about using it, then the chances are even slimmer again. |
