It isn't illegal because video versions are often different and these versions are not usually able to be bought.
I use a program made by DVDvideoSoft which also enables me to download Youtube videos as well.

Technically this should be posted in the tech helpdesk.
What you do is download vids from youtube legally through the site keepvid. Then use a legal converter to convert the file to an audio one.
It's all legal and readily available for people to do. Unless stated.

I have this thing called VDownloader. Really easy to use, and you can rip audio and save the video to your computer. Check it out.
