My aunt had absolutely no money as they lost their house earlier this year and are renting a 3 Floor house. My uncle, all year spends money wildly. They had their gas shut off for a while. My cousin who's 12 years old, isnt gonna have a Christmas as my aunt cant afford to get him a present. So ..... My mother's Godmother had given my mom a Gift Card for Wal Mart for $50. My mom decided she's gonna give the gift card to my aunt to spend on my cousin for Christmas.
So is there a time around this holiday, you felt giving?

That's nice that she's giving her the gift card. But if the parents have been irresponsible, she should probably give the gift card directly to the child.

That's nice that she's giving her the gift card. But if the parents have been irresponsible, she should probably give the gift card directly to the child. but some kids at that age are still influenced by their parents, in a way. The kid would end up giving it to the mom because of the situation. You can't really win.

Kinda similar to my cousins' situation. My uncle lost his job months ago, so they are running low on money. So i'm gonna get them some gifts, even though im pretty broke too.

Meh, I'm a full-time college student who has to support myself, and I still bought stuff for the four people I live with, plus my girlfriend's family, which is an additional four people. Then I got stuff for my three sisters, so that's a good eleven people. It makes me feel good.

I buy for my family every year. This year, though, I've outdone myself, because I bought my older brother an iPod nano. I did this because he helped me out a lot financially over the summer, and also bought me my own iPod for my birthday. He's gonna be so surprised when he opens a giant box, expecting something big, and has to open more boxes inside, getting smaller and smaller, finally revealing the nano. He's gonna love itttttt.

I really have a hard time feeling sorry for either of these parents because they basically brought it on themselves. The kid gets some sympathy from me though.

This is the first time I've had a job at Christmas, so I was able to buy some decent presents for my friends and family and it feels quite nice.
