I offered to go in around closing time just to help my job clean up. Otherwise I'm staying home. I've worked enough retail to know going out on Black Friday is not worth it.

Woke up at 5:00. Went to K-Mart looking for a 20" LCD TV. They had two. I got to them just as a guy swiped up the last one.
Then, I went to Target and ran to the back of the store looking for a 19", only to find out they were at the front of the store and they, too, had all been grabbed.
I was back in bed by about 7:00 and very, very disappointed.

My wife and I went to Staples at 6:15 a.m. in an attempt to buy their doorbuster GPS system. We found out they kept all of their GPS systems behind the counter and you had to wait in line at one of the registers (both lines at least 30 deep at this point) to find out, when you got to the front, if they had one left.
We decided not to start the day by waiting in line 45 minutes for something that would possibly be sold out before we got to the register, and left.
Ultimately, we got a GPS system for $100 at Linens N Things (of all places!), among loads of other goodies. Also picked up a combination printer-scanner-copier at Target for $46 (the $38 doorbuster version was gone by 6:30 a.m., but $46 is still a good price).
Also took advantage of Best Buy having all HBO DVD sets at 50% off... I got the entire series of Mr. Show for about $34 total, and my wife got the deluxe complete series box set of Sex in the City for $100. Good deals, I think.
Then we made up for the bargains we got by allowing the Disney store to hump us big time on a Cars carry-on luggage case for $35. Way too expensive for what it was, but my son was absolutely enthralled with it, so we did the Christmasy thing and got him the gift he wanted despite the price.

First Black friday for this natural insomniac. So here's my scripture.
No sleep, left around 3:30, and went to JC Pennys around 4am when they opened. I went out with my dad, who was more into it than I was- At least in the beginning.
But no purchases there for me. We went to Target afterward, entered the line at 4:30, thought they would be open at 5am, they didn't open till 6am...
I got my Western Digital (500gb) External Hard-Drive for a cool $87, $93 when you count the tax.
I also picked up a Senshi/Low ki figure... hey, no deal, but love the figure none the less. Oh but they had deals for figs... CS figs at $5.40! But only Luger the Loser and the Bad Guy, Razor Ramon. Unfortunately I bought a Razor a couple weeks ago. I also have no desire to support Narcissism, unless it's myself or Michael Kyzer.
But yeah, after Target I went to the mall. Carousel mall only had FYE and Best Buy and neither had any thing hugely worth losing (more) sleep over.
So yeah, my eye was on the prize, and I could call it a success.
Though I'd still take the sleep as the best deal. But I'm a natural insomniac, it was an adrenaline rush to be up that late and doing some thing. While being sober enough to remember what I had done.
I crashed at 9am, woke up to Dr Phil at 3pm interviewing a fat guy.

Anyways, picked up Call of Duty 4 for $48, The WWE Magazine with Jericho on the cover, and the new Dane Cook cd (his stuff is hilarious....the first time). Im pissed, they were out of The Office season 1 for $9.99
All at Target.

Got up at 4:30 and left with my dad and brother at 5:00. Went to Circuit City frist and stood in line for over an hour just to find out that when I was about done, some guy came up and asked if anyone was buying a video game or system. So I had to go to a different line after waiting in that one for over an hour Needless to say I was pissed off but the other line only took like 20 mins. and I got my PS3 with my free controler and the mail in for 5 free blu rays. Then after that we stopped at Best Buy (picked up the PS3 Blu ray remote), JC Penny (where we bought a Christmas tree), TRU (where the line was way to damn long) and the mall where I picked up a few more things. Then afterward got Dunkin Donuts, went to sleep at 11:00 and woke up at 4:30. Pretty cool experience overall.

Im pissed, they were out of The Office season 1 for $9.99 All at Target. That's only the third time I've seen that joke used, and it's already making me want bad things to happen to you. "Heartbreak and Triumph: The Shawn Michaels Story" three-disc set for $6.99 HBK and Jake "The Snake" Roberts shirts at Steve and Barry's for $15 total (not a sale. they sell them $8.98 a piece, or 2 for 15) Duran Duran - "The Wild Boys" 12" vinyl single for $6.99 That's all. Not really interested in a lot of the sales going on.
