I shot my grandma yesterday. I agree, it was quite horrid. It missed her ear by 3 inches and went straight in the middle of her forehead!

Yeah, I have to because my major is English with a a concentration in Creative Writing.. but I'm only taking writing because it will look good on my transcript when I apply to law schools after I get my B.A. I'm not overly fond of poetry, at least not modern poetry that's all dark and has no structure to it. Fiction writing/monologues are great though.

Here is a poem I made for my creative writing class earlier this semester. The best part was, when I was finished reading it, there was this uber-religious black girl who ran out of the room with tears in her eyes. Then her next poem was "dissing" my poem, it was like "you make jokes about how I'm a magician, well maybe I should make you disappear". I laughed my ass off. So without further ado, I present the Jesus Poem.
Jesus, he was a magician, The way he turned water to wine. You might go so far as to say He was the David Blaine of his time.
Jesus, he was a comedian, And some of his jokes were quite funny. It’s rumored his final words were “Celebrate my death with a bunny”.
Jesus, he was a hippie, Right down to the sandals he’d wear. His old man always told him “Jesus, cut your damn hair”.
Jesus, he was a performer, The Elton John of his day. The only difference between them Is that Jesus was not openly gay.
Jesus, he was so humble, He’d cleanse you right out on the street. But did you ever stop to think That maybe Jesus had a fetish for feet?
Jesus, he was a carpenter, That’s something no one can contend. So perhaps it’s a bit ironic, That he was the one nailed in the end.

I write a good bit. Most of the poetry I write to a tune in my head so I guess they could be song lyrics more than anything. Sometimes I just rant write and I'm told that it's quite creative. I'm a horrible critic of my writings. Most of them are on my myspace page in my blog sections. If you want to read here's a link. Some of them have to be highlighted over. www.myspace.com/makemeyourloveslave

I've tried my hang at song writing, but nothing I'm too proud of yet. Anything I write pales in comparison to Tiny Dancer anyway, which is the greatest ing song ever, and even better when you're drunk. I can imagine you at one of those mini-pianos, a 40 on top, wearing rose colored glasses, screaming the lyrics. It's a funny thought.

Yeah, I have written quite a few things in my life and have been published by my college's literary magazine. Honestly your songs/lyrics are the only ones I've read that I can imagine in my head to music, even though I'm sure my sense of what music would be behind them is much different than the way you would play it. To me, that just means you're good at it, and you can write pretty universally. I write screenplays, with a few exceptions for short stories, which usually get reworked into short screenplays, and later feature length screenplays. Honestly, it's the only medium I feel really comfortable writing in.

It was a heck of an accomplishment when I was done, but damn, I was so stressed during. However, it is REALLY fun. I also wrote a scene for a History project. I am in a class that specializes in writing for broadcast. The class is awesome and full of fun projects. For one assignment, we got to write a PSA for a PGA Golf tournament and the winner would get their PSA script produced by the advanced editing class and be broadcast on TV. I didn't win, but that was really questionable, as I thought my script rocked. I also worked really hard on it. But yeah, I love writing. It's one of my favorite things to do.

Hmm, I'd be interested in reading that some day. That sounds kick ass. If my calculations are at all right, shouldn't you be graduating pretty soon? If I remember correctly you were either with me in c/o 02 or right behind me, and I should have graduated last year. lol
