I highly recommend a lighter colour. For rooms that generally arent suppose to be particularly contrasting its contents, its best to go with the lighter tone colours. Its much more softer on the eye but lighter colours also give an accentuated feeling of relaxation and so on. Darker colours and those with more saturation become offturning and too powerful. I say come up with a base colour you like then get it in a lighter tone. Red seems nice. Although a blue or yellow (warm yellow that is) may also looks nice. Also, try going for the seude paint. Its a bit more expensive and takes bit longer to do but looks much nicer when done correctly. Hopefully this has helped you and painted the perfect picture for you. Just some ideas i brushed up. I think it applies well. You can do it.

Paint two walls black, and two walls white.

My own room is white and orange. The top half of the wall is painted white whilst the lower half is orange wallpaper (because orange paint was too expensive and wallpaper I found was £1 a roll). It's much better than the green wallpaper I had before this (striped light/dark green) as it looks brighter and the colours give the impression of a warm room.

Black, Gray are considered to be depressing.
I would go for some neutral color, which it's a mute color, you could find all shades of color at the paint store.
I would def. bet on green (Light yet Dark) with blue, orange and red-ish.

H i guys and girl, Thanks for the help, but after mooching about in a shop for about a half an hour.. i bought... *Drumroll please* White. Yeah I know. Bummer. But i thought it'd look clean and it is a neutral and bright colour so.. yeah. I have to paint it over a red wall though. Needless to say its getting very frustrating. Red is damn near impossible to paint over. Most of its white now.. but i do have some pink spots left to do Again, thanks for the help though (and the pictures )
