There were many of these figures I wanted, but I never once saw any of these in store except red tights HHH which peg warmed in another county . And I have in about a 30 minute driving span, probably 7 or 8 wal marts near me.

When it was announced, I was all for it. My plan was to go all in on it, and I did for the first wave and the first two waves of Ultimates. Then I stopped being able to find them regularly. I found all of Wave 2 except for Nash, and I still haven't found him. I found The Rock from Wave 3, ordered Booker and RVD, but had to get Stevie Ray on ebay. I found all of the Greatest Hits, but didn't want any of them since I already had 3 of the regular releases. Ended up getting them for Vincent, but I haven't decided if I'm keeping the rest or not. With Wave 4, I found Austin, and he's the only one I didn't want from that wave.
It's frustrating trying to track these things down. I've lucked up and found all of the Ultimates in stores. I'm current on those. The Elites, though, aren't setting my world on fire with the picks. I have the next two waves pre-ordered, but I can't say I'm super excited about any of the figures coming.

With 79 votes for failure and 43 for success, I hope this thread can grab the attention of Steve and the guys. Really hope this helps them.

Like myself and others have stated, there is a lot of potential in this line and a lot of figures to make but
A) most can't find them B) there's no online shipping option on Walmarts site for them C) there's a multitude of QC issues D) they don't have rights to some of the biggest names from that era at the moment I.E. Sting, Flair, Edge & Christian, The Hardy Boyz, Jericho, Rhino, Dreamer, Sabu, Jarrett, Big Show/Giant or Taz. E) they need to throw some more mid carders and FTITL in there like Juvi, Hardcore Holly, Crash Holly, Test, Scotty 2 Hotty, Grandmaster Sexay, Val Venis, Regal, Mean Street Posse, Blackman, Al Snow, Kanyon, Crowbar, Billy Kidman, Dr Death, Disco Inferno, Buff Bagwell, Finlay, La Parka, Konnan, Raven, Psychosis, Saturn, Shane Douglas, Shannon Moore, Vampiro, Tank Abbott and so on

Same as everyone else, I love this line for my WCW collection but hate to see myself and others missing out on availability in their areas. Only putting out one of each figure and two (Razor Ramon) doesn’t help either.

For me it's a double-edged sword.
Distribution is all over the place and I've yet to see series 4 or 5 locally after seeing the whole lots of 1-3 in varying degrees, along with both sets of Ultimates. No sign of Triple H though.
As far as figure selection, there are a lot of winners that make this a success for me: Nitro debut Hall and Nash, Fake Diesel, Harlem Heat, Nation Rock, all of the Ultimates rule, jeans DDP was a long time coming, most of the BaFs like NWO Dusty, Vincent, Ref Teddy, Disciple, have all been killer too.
Overall I think the line itself is great, but Walmart's lackluster distribution and preordering suck the fun out of it for me. I wanted to get all of series 4 but the latest set we got were Greatest Hits and even then, only Bam Bam and HHH.

So where do all these figures go? If they're never stocked (or is it never ordered instead?) do we see them a few years from now randomly showing up on shelves when other stock has run out or are we just SOL? Where do they go? A garbage dump? A third party selling site? Genuinely curious what happens with them since they've obviously been created but I dont see them. Also, distributors of toys whose major purchasers are parents of kids aren't going to care too much about paint applications but figures breaking and not being able to move? That is going to cause issues among collectors AND parents with kids when the $20 toy they bought for little Jimmy has it's legs snap off the first time he goes to play with it. So I see that having to be fixed more than the other issues bc most parents just wont buy that brand again as opposed to calling and complaining to Mattel. The way they find out will be through lack of sales and returns instead. Just my opinion. there are like two sellers on ebay that have been slinging these things out every week for the past number of months now. also this guy "pauls toy store" is getting MNW figures shipped directly when they are supposed to be wal mart exclusive. i think someone is making a deal from the warehouse

Biggest problems with this wave are the fact that waves are coming out to closely together, lack of variety with superstars like we’ve already had 2 triple h and stone cold’s and the obvious that Walmart is the worst at stocking it

He is a mattel licensed reseller ("partner"). So is Paul and so are a few others I already listed a few times including what appears to be the actual factory in China selling the prototypes of various lines. Steve knows. Don't waste your breath on it. Bottom line. These are not just "exclusive to walmart" and certain series are in higher supply to these "partners" like series 4. Me and a few others surmise that walmart underordered these figures and mattel perhaps underproduced these as well. Probably a mixed bag. Worst part is that the few cases that show up are quickly bought out by employees. We are all searching for ghosts. The saddest part about this line is scalpers opening the packages for the baf figure. This is what is attracting these vultures. On one hand we have a chance to get these figures on the other hand, as scarce as these are, they could have included a random fan from the crowd on any particular night of mnw and it would sell out at this point. I think mattel grossly underestimated the amount of fans of the nwo era and walmart grossly underestimated how in demand the figures were. You would expect s5 to be in higher supply online but nope, same old. They just don't have a clue when it comes to toys. Best thing at this point is for the line to die and picked up again when the missing Wrestlers are signed and quality control issues are addressed. Also make series 7 + 8 comprising of all baf to date (only scalpers would have a problem with that) This coinciding with a release at ringside. Just put a sock in it and call it a day.

My headless Disciple determines that this line is bunk. Tell me you don't want my money without telling me you don't want my money; make it a Walmart exclusive. Wanna know how many of those Ruthless Aggression tribute line figures I saw? Zero. This line, I just so happened to be at a Walmart as the display was being unloaded, but the RVD wasn't present. So I have a headless Disciple, a duplicate Rock I already had in a two pack and Harlem Heat.
This line ended my Mattel wrestling collecting, 100%.

My closest wal mart had no MNW labels on anything, but the only thing out was Series 93 Seth. Can’t make this stuff up

Mattel doesn't care, that should be clear by now. They have done nothing to fix the distribution issues of this line (or Superstars) and have remained silent not even making a simple statement that they are aware of the issues and are doing whatever they can to fix the problem and improve the availability of these products.

Walmart is not only a line kiler but also a mattel collector killer. Sultan will not stay loyal for long. He will just go with the flow and move onto the next big thing. Mattel is relying on chase figures and bad distribution to get their partners to buy in bulk but you will at some point see them pulling back when the general public realizes that they are overpaying for substandard figures. Im positive the resellers will have to dump them at retail prices at some point.
