Someone of Facebook is reporting finding this at a Walmart in California.... Now I'm really wondering what is going on - I have had this on pre-order from Ringside since it became available, and I didn't think it was due for a little while yet - but Ringside almost always gets their stuff out well before Walmart/Retail. What in the hell is going on? Walmart refuses to stock/ship their own exclusive stuff (Monday Night Wars) but THESE they'll get months in advance of Ringside Collectibles? I'm already sitting here wondering when the Ringside Ultimate Outsiders are coming (they were due weeks ago) and now I see THIS. Is something going on at Ringside Collectibles, that they are getting stuff out late? It's really getting frustrating trying to figure out where to get these figures from. The Hogan/Okerlund set is currently sold out (gone) from Ringside Collectibles. I know I'll get it from Ringside eventually, but part of the reason I ordered it from them was because I knew I had no faith in Walmart to stock it. And here Walmart has it first.

I think we just need to get back to enjoying the hunt. When I was a kid you had no idea what figures were coming out until you found them in stores. The only clue you had was what was on the back of the box.

I'm all for things hitting retail at or around the same time as Ringside, it's always been a little wild to me that they have a virtual monopoly and significant window of exclusivity. Obviously it would be nice to know before placing a preorder, though. I don’t even like basics/main event figs but I’ll be picking this up Between the new leg articulation, basic Hogans still having the bicep swivel arms for whatever reason, and the molded shirt, I honestly think it looks better than a lot of Hogan elites. I think the championship belts in these packs have been looking better than the Elite versions recently, too.

Not worth having a coronary over my friend! It’s not. But when you pre order, they over charge you because they claim “we overnight stuff to get it to you faster.” So therefor we’re getting overcharged for things you can find in stores.

The only clue you had was what was on the back of the box. When you were a kid it was also a different world where toys were readily available and were of interest to just about every kid in the country. The days when you could walk into a Toys R Us and see a wall of new figures are gone and never coming back. I don't see how waxing poetically about "enjoying the hunt" fits when the issue is there isn't readily available supply to "hunt." To the OP's question, it does seem like either RSC isn't air shipping early batches or they're being selective about what product they expedite. Could be a logistics issue, could be cost, or it could be that they don't feel the need to compete for market share when the product isn't readily available anywhere else.

I’m glad they are getting these things out early or on time and not scalpers selling them!

These things are readily available, just seems like they are not because you see someone else got them online 3 weeks ago and you think you should have them now too. Most figures I have wanted I have eventually found at retail. Just sometimes it's 4 months from now.

Forgot about this 2 pack. Just too much product out there now. Just want that mean gene.

Been looking forward to this one. I think I will be replacing the Vince in my display with Okerlund. Though, I think Mean Gene has inaccurate height issues too...I'll need to rewatch the review and pay better attention this time.

Thanks for all the feedback everyone, I wasn't "having a coronary" over it, but I was just a little frustrated.
These days it seems like we have to make decisions on where to buy these figures from - Pay a little more from Ringside and (usually) get it early, or take your chances with Walmart - and get it later - or risk never finding it at all, but pay a little less. Amazon doesn't really seem to be stocking new WWE items anymore, I'd love to get some of this stuff through Amazon. Target? They sure do manage those Legends well, but they've been very poor about stocking Elites/Basics for about a year now. The Target shelves I see are generally empty. Consistently? There is nowhere else.
If it's something I REALLY want, I generally order it from Ringside, so that I'm guaranteed to get it. That's what I did with this Okerlund set (I love Okerlund & Hogan figures). So I was just a little annoyed to see it popping up at Walmart long before Ringside - - - meanwhile we are all searching Walmarts hoping for Monday Night Wars figures and coming up empty handed - and many of us are STILL waiting on delayed Outsiders from Ringside.
I guess I'm glad to see Walmart stocking ANYTHING at all, but sometimes it feels like we're all aiming at a moving target.
As someone earlier in the thread pointed out - I do miss those days of walking into a toy store & seeing a whole aisle packed with wrestling toys. But those days are long gone, these days we really do have to strategize WHERE to buy these from.
