I just saw on the Kyle Peterson weekly news video that Rush Collectibles is getting in on the LJN form factor, starting with Roadblock. What do you all think? In? Out? Wait and see? Roadblock isn’t in my collecting wheelhouse (80’s WWF), but I’m all for there being more companies getting in on this form-factor. I’m out on the first figure, but will keep an eye on how they review and future releases.

Who knows what to expect from this latest line from Rush? I'd hold off buying anything until you see it, though.

To the best of my knowledge, those Roadblock and Joey Knight micro brawler style mini figures were never made and it’s been almost two years. If they were canceled please correct me as I would rather have accurate information out there. With that being said, I have such little confidence in his ability to do much of anything at this point in terms of getting products into people’s hands. Good, bad, or mediocre; he has been absolutely dreadful with delivery what is owed and even worse with what is advertised. I want him to turn a corner and prove everyone wrong but at this time he has lost the benefit of the doubt from me. If he is able to turn things around, I will be the first one to apologize and pat him on the back. Until then, I doubt there will be much actual news worth covering. If he shows off a 3D render for a figure then go ahead and post it here which is the equivalent of a digital refrigerator.

As i said in the other post, i would never directly buy from this guy. He has no proven track record and is essentially the laughing stock of the community. Even if he actually produced something i had to have i would buy it from a 3rd party seller before doing any kind of preorder from him.
I also think its absolutely ridiculous to start ANOTHER line/scale, directly in competition with rubberguys and the first release is an obscure character that looks nothing like said character. And he hasnt even finished/fulfilled all the other stuff he has shown off in the last 2yrs

I’ve never bought a Rush figure, but am aware of their retro issues. That said, unlike Latoonie, I respect that they are at least going with other talent that Big Rubber Guys isn’t already doing in this scale. I *might* bite on one of these alternatives if they get to one of my sought after 80’s WWF guys before BRGs does, like Hercules (blue trunks ring gear) or Dino Bravo.

If a trusted, reliable, reputable company cant or hasn’t been able to sign and release a most wanted character. Surely the bottom of the barrel place wont, and if by some miracle they did. Please be cautious

I was looking through the Kyle P videos for a pic of the render, it looks fine. But I noticed in one of the other videos a mention of another company (not sure who) making LJN-style Rocky figures. Which is something I would definitely be interested in.

Which is something I would definitely be interested in. They will probably be available through their official shop but I’m not sure what the company is called. They said they will be named Rocky Superstars and discussed several planned releases. Also MC said there is some other story involved with these that would be discussed on their show some day. “Here’s a little something special that we’ve been working on for over a year now. Who remembers those iconic wrestling toys in the late 80s and early 90s called wrestling superstars? Well, these are going to be our Rocky Superstars! Here is the first look at our Rocky Balboa and our Apollo Creed. Also in series one we will be bringing you Clubber Lang and Ivan Drago! And yes they will all be wearing TUF-WEAR gloves! Our official Rocky artist john_rivoli is already hard at work on series 2, which will be focused on Rocky 1! #SylvesterStallone #SlyStallone #Rocky #RockyBalboa #CarlWeathers #ApolloCreed #DolphLundgren #MrT #IvanDrago #ClubberLang #Toys #Dolls #ActionFigure”

I'd love to see the LJN style used on a lot of stuff, I just think solid rubber figures are awesome. I had a, probably bootleg, solid rubber Spiderman figure as a kid, and no amount of searching has found it, or anything like it since. I'd love Marvel, DC, and literally everyone to make some toys in that exact style.

Probably the same criticism about ZST's figure applies here, they are a little too detailed for LJN style. I think BRG nailed the updated LJN look. But depending on price, I'd be interested in Drago & Clubber. They will probably be available through their official shop but I’m not sure what the company is called. They had the Marvel license throughout the 90s and experimented with a bunch of form factors early on. Anyway, sorry for derailing the thread. I'll shut up now lol.

I've been wanting to identify that Spiderman figure for forever, lol. This was pre-Toybiz, probably in or around 1990, 1991, maybe 1992 at the latest, but the figure could have been produced as early as 86'. It was a little smaller and slimmer than a typical LJN, but it was hard rubber and it was honestly one of my favourite toys of all time. Unfortunately, I have absolutely no idea where it came from or when, or even whatever happened to it, but I no longer had it when we moved house in early 1994. Ah, it's a Rush thread, a little relevant derail is okay! lol

No, but now I want to own that figure because it looks brilliant 😄 Mine was a bit bigger than 3.5 inches and iirc he was stood straight with his arms sort of away from his sides and his hands clenched in a sort of Ric Flair meets Lex Luger Galoob style position... But I could easily be wrong about its pose as this was over 30 years ago, lol. It was definitely bigger than that one you guy's posted, though.

Ah well, we tried 😀 Im pretty familar with that time period and there actually wasnt too much being made post-Mattel Secret Wars until Toybiz got the Marvel license. A bendie figure, Applause pvc figurines,1/6 vinyl model kits, etc...it was a bit barren for a few years believe it or not. So I would think it wouldn't be terribly hard to find. But, anyway, hope you are able to find it one day.

It’s very telling how little interest/faith people have in this line when on page 1 it’s already about similar scale but completely unrelated Rocky and Spider-Man figures. My nostalgia itch for this form factor is 80’s WWF, personally. But to each their own.

Yeah enough about Rocky and Spidey, they don't belong in WFT - Other Brands. Take that discussion to here
