I recently came across a Triple H Jakks TTL unreleased figure on ebay and I decided to pick it up for only $10. wrestlingfiguredatabase.com/products/famousunreleased?_pos=17&_fid=3e7c634e2&_ss=cI personally love the design of this figure even though i'm not big on the TTL, and im glad I was able to pick it up for cheap. However, it got me thinking, of all the unreleased figures where do they actually all go? Like how do they make it out to the general public? Do the employees get to keep them, or steal them, and thats how they eventually end up in circulation? Does the manufacturer just decide to throw them away? I'd really like to know how these get out to circulation because when I contacted the seller on ebay about how he obtained this figure he said it was part of a large collection he acquired. Thanks!

I would guess they get stolen the majority of the time.

Pretty sure the Triple H in the tshirt did eventually find a release spot. Limited as it looks like it was the SDCC (?) Exclusive I won from a drawing RTM (raving toy maniacs) ran back in the late 90’s early ‘00.

I wish I was old enough back in the late 90s to see what the market was how figures were revealed and how different it is from today. I was limited to whatever my parents picked me up at like KBs or something .

I have one kicking around somewhere...different shirt design, and the jointed elbows with "Toyfair [Whatever Year it Was]" printed down the side of his leg. I won it on this forum way, way back in the day where you had to like find a hidden word and call it out lol. EDIT: oop - didn't realize I had some pics of him on this PC from the last time I dug it out... ...looks like it was 2002, which was only 22 years ago and the year I joined this forum at the tender young age of 16

I also won a little cartoonish style Triple H figure keychain. I think that might be in a desk drawer or it’s buried in a bin in the closet.

Back not too long after I started the website/forum Jakks gave me a good amount of them for giveaways.

Mattel made a Jeff Hardy figure that didn't officially see the light of day (because he left WWE at the time) that people still managed to get a hold of. There were warnings on here against selling those figures because they were considered stolen.

My experience in other, non-wrestler figure communities.
Unreleased figures get stolen. 9/10 times. This includes cull figures. There is a huge market in Doctor Who toys for figures that were factory rejects stolen from the cull pile (or wherever they end up) by the factory workers and then put up for sale on ebay as "Old, used" out of "Australia". With the Doctor Who toys, there isn't much stigma for buying those, especially if you are using them for custom parts. The figures were going to be thrown in an incinerator anyway, and at least this way the factory workers can make money off them.
Wrestling figures, however, are an entirely different story.
