Went out on Jan 1 2010, found and bought all of Basic series 1, including a 1/1000 Kofi Kingston.
Haven't looked back or stopped since.

I remember going to a K-MART that was loaded with everything untouched from the first group. I got some of each of the 2 pack, Basic, and Elite. Elite Punk for sure, and the Big Show and Edge 2 pack to get some Main Eventers, since Big Show also had a single release. Fully stocked, no chase belts and NEVER found a single one since collecting them from day 1.

Didn’t want to convert but once I had basic 1 Cena in hand I was hooked. Mattel just made such a better product than Jakks so hundreds of figures and thousands of dollars later here we are

Been with Mattel since Day 1, I got an early set of basic 1 before January 1, my first Elite from RSC was E1 Edge, and I remember going out on 1-1-10 hunting and found a bunch, my fav find was I went to a random K-mart & found series 2 2 Packs, was pumped I found Miz/Morrison, at that point I had no idea they were even out

It was impressive how hard Mattel hit the ground running at the launch. Basic Series 1, Elite Series 1, Tag Teams 1 and 2, Wrestlemania Heritage, and Entrance Greats, Legends, and Defining Moments weren't too far behind.

After long time not buying anything I restarted my collection buying some jakks, in the middle of it mattel got the license and immediately you could tell that their product was and will be better in scale and detail. It has been and still is an awesome journey

i still have my elite 1 undertaker & rey mysterio. i was blown away by actual scale @ the time of those two, since the jakks rey mysterio was about the same size as taker.

My very first Mattel figures were the Wrestlemania heritage Stone Cold and Undertaker basics which I bought in 2010 and still have Austin MOC. My very first Mattel elite was elite 1 Undertaker which I also still have MOC. đź‘Ť

I was a lurker on the forums when Mattel was taking over. There was so much people saying they weren't buying any mattel figures because they didn't want to start over. To answer the question I started to collect when the 1st legends series came out. Still have some MOC.

Ah, ÂŁ12.99 elites, from 'Wrestling World'... those were the days. I didn't bother with any of those basics, with those coin belts - not even the Punk.

Ah, ÂŁ12.99 elites, from 'Wrestling World'... those were the days. I didn't bother with any of those basics, with those coin belts - not even the Punk. those were the times!!!!!!!!! their prices were always so good and delivery to the EU was fast. what happened to them? i've been collecting since day 1, wanted to buy every main line elite and completed 1-9, bought many 1/1000 basics when they were released. gave up at series 10 though, they started releasing guys several times and i didn't want to have every wrestler like 5 times since i already had a lot of jakks figures + we didn't get Elites in Europe until Elite 9 and they usually only sent two or three figures of the whole wave bought some more figures until 2014 and then decided to stop, the tv program was getting worse and worse and apart from some RSC excl or HOF lines I didn't miss that much. restarted at the start of this year and i am actually feeling a bit overwhelmed, so many lines and new figures are getting released each month, really hard to keep up without having retail stores that sell figures
sets were usually around 120-130$ shipped, nowadays i usually have to pay around 40-50$ for current popular elites SMH i decided back in the days to open almost all of my mattel figures, the loose ones are currently still packed away in boxes as i haven't really found a way to display them yet i kept all the elite boxes though and stored them away in moving boxes, for example: i have been running out of space for quite some time now, can only display a small % of my MOC figures (several rows behind, not satisfied with it)
my room is like filled with figures everywhere

I started day one and collected every elite and most basic/two-packs but stopped in 2017, apart from the occasional thing since then.

I started day one, stopped a few times and came back but I remember the poster before the first reveal. I think it was a blurred out Triple H on a ramp. Really cool. Edit - just found the pic. The rush of nostalgia from this picture is unreal, you just took me back!!

I was waiting on Toys R Us to open their doors on Jan. 1, 2010, and haven't let up since.
I do seriously miss those $12 Kmart Elites, though.
