The thing with Bill was a member insulting him personally...and then he bought the figure he was complaining about anyways.

No. It’s not going anywhere. Starting with wave 5, all MNW Elites (except Greatest Hits) and Ultimates will be available for pre-order. Wave 3 pre-orders seem to be fulfilling properly so I’m hopeful the previous issues have been resolved. If there are wave 3 fulfillment issues, post here and I’ll pass them on. Thank you, Steve. I assumed it was just speculation given past statements you have made about continuing on as along as the retailer wanted it.

The Wal-Mart closest to my house has yet to put the summer slam shipper out. I'm convinced they never even got one, and I'm hearing of some Wal-Mart's getting 2 in?!?!? Like WTH.

What's wrong with his post? Steve is an adult idk why yall feel like you've gotta be on eggshells around him. If he wants to reply or move along it's his call. Some of you guys get so weird over Steve and I don't understand it. Honestly, I am guessing some of the tiptoeing has to do with what happened with Bill as he was interactive back in the day, but after one too many attacks he is no longer active here on any sort of regular basis. Steve came in, started the Q&A thread, drops in when things pop up (like this discussion here), but the goal is to 'keep it nice and civil' so we don't lose Steve too. Some people tend to be..... extra blunt...... in their responses and it can come off to some people as a rather a-hole like. Not to everyone, but to some. And I am sure those people don't mean it that way. I have a guy that way I work with (tech support for a tech company) - he is just too blunt in a corporate world and it comes off very dickishly and he has unintentionally ticked a lot of people off. The same could happen here, and the goal is to keep Steve communicating with the group. The problem is most of the comments and questions aren't a-holeish and are instead blown out of proportion(like it was here) when this is the forum for those type of questions.

I'd only add that we've seen a slight trend on here - where AFA Steve answers a question, and then a user argues back with him. We shouldn't do that. If he took the time to answer the question, he's giving the best answer that he can. I'm 100% sure he cannot tell us everything and I'm quite sure there are many "behind the scenes" things that we don't know about. While we all despise the Walmart/Mattel partnership (and how it's executed) I'm sure no Mattel Representative could never come on a public message board and speak out about one of Mattel's most financially lucrative partnerships, and the largest retailer in the world. I have no doubt that the Mattel people are just as frustrated as we are about a lot of this Walmart stuff, but they could never say that publicly. He has to answer these questions carefully and politically. Just asking that we all "play nice" and "be polite" while still expressing our concerns in a constructive manner. I'm glad he's listening. It gives me a little satisfaction to know that they are aware of our frustrations (even if they don't seem to be getting resolved).

And when you start arguing back and forth -- and start posting rude comments (or as someone would say generously, extremely blunt), he stops responding and stops posting. And I'd do the same. So many people here enjoy when Steve posts -- and your rude comments are ruining that interaction for everyone else.

I just can't see how this line can last much longer in the future If all we are getting are repaints of the same superstars.

I understand why you feel that way.... but, given the poor distribution of the line - is that what we would really want? Do you guys really want to be running around to Walmarts searching for that FITL Billy Kidman, that's not offered online and is only 1-per-case and only put on selected Shippers that your Walmart may or may not receive? I'd rather they save the "deep cuts" for Target Legends where we all can be confident that we can actually buy them for retail price and not from scalpers.

Most would agree that more lineup depth with new names is always a welcome thing, but the flip side comes with the absolute crapshoot that is retail distribution.

They kind of started it at an unfortunate time, I mean No Sting, Savage,Flair, Jericho, Big Show, Benoit is a no-no, they don't have Edge or Christian, no Kanyon or most of the cruiserweights, or anybody from ECW as far as we know, and they're already kinda tapped dry as far as Hogan, Nash, and Hall go.
At this point they have to pray they get somebody completely new and exciting like Kanyon or Bagwell to work with to prolong the line. I think the only figure they have left is Big Papa Pump and I think most people can live with just one

Even if they had limited choices for the first few series (and most collectors have been a bit underwhelmed), this line coming about is still a really good thing, as it means Mattel have more reason than ever to suggest WWE approach/sign more "first time" and "deep dive" names, particularly on the WCW side. There is massive potential with this line to add much needed depth to the classic roster of figures, and massive potential for profit too, if you're a longterm wrestling fan it's easy to forget the colossal popularity the Monday Night Wars era had in the mainstream, and the nostalgia that a huge amount of people (many who don't follow current wrestling) have for it. This line is the best chance we've ever had to fill some of the longtime gaps who have never had a Mattel figure, or never had any figure by any company ever. There are literally hundreds of possibilities, so I'm really hoping as the line move forwards we will see less A-listers who've had loads of figures, less repaints, less "WWF guys" in their WCW gear, and instead see some real surprises, deep cuts, and true WCW names.
And to any more casual fans reading this, lets be clear, Mattel and WWE have regular discussions about Legends, where Mattel makes suggestions who WWE should approach/sign, the list of who is available is always changing and never fully known to the public, and plenty of "non-A-listers" have merchandise deals in place. I really hate this narrative pushed by certain condescending members here that we know everyone who is signed, the list is static and unchanging, and that Mattel/WWE only have interest in the A-listers or pure "WWF guys" because it's simply not true. Since Mattel got the license we've seen plenty of guys who had little to no career in WWF and plenty of deep cuts too, Mattel, Steve and Bill (and WWE legal) work hard to give us a broad range of figures celebrating as much of wrestling history as possible, and we will continue to be surprised in ways nobody will see coming.

This line was dead in my eyes as soon as it was announced as a WalMart exclusive line. There’s 5 WalMarts I hit regularly and I can say I never saw the Best of RA Bischoff. I saw Booker once. And other than JBL I didn’t see anyone past series 1 on the pegs. With the MNW I saw the UE Piper/Hitman set once (thankfully) series 1 I saw 4 Hogan, 1 Undertaker and 1 undertaker swap and 1 Austin swap. Series 2 I found two shippers and a total of 3 Rey’s and 6 Triple H. The other two were long gone. Series 3 I haven’t seen a single figure at any of the stores. So if I can’t find them locally the line is dead in my eyes. Plus being a WCW guy without the major names in the line for WCW like Sting, Flair, Anderson, Jericho, Benoit it was always going to be lacking at best.

I think the line should've looked to fill out the NWO roster personally.
Figure's such as Ted Dibiase, Miss Elizabeth, Mike Wallstreet, Scott Steiner and Stevie Rey in addition to those already released/announced.
Big Bubba Rogers is in the Legends line, put a NWO black and white shirt on the figure.
NWO Sting, Buff Bagwell, Scott Norton, Konnan, Brian Adams, Horace Hogan will most likely never see daylight.

I know it was expensive and international collectors were completely being screwed on shipping and customs fees...but the figure selection killed that thing immediately. I know Mattel have to be hopeful that Sting, Flair, Big show, Macho will all be available again in the future. It's just odd that they would have a Monday night wars themed line without having some of the biggest WCW guys under a figure deal.

We were told that this line would be better..... we were told that Walmart had made some improvements. That didn't happen. Somehow this line has had even worse distribution than any of the past Walmart lines; From excessive "figure hunting" I was always able to eventually find the figures I needed, from Flashback Series to Superstars to Ruthless Aggression. I never saw the later waves of the Ruthless Aggression series but I didn't really want them anyway. I got my Bischoff & RVD so I was happy. Monday Night Wars? Wave 1, I found alright although I never saw the complete set in one spot. Wave 2? Only saw a few stray Triple H's on a ravaged Shipper. Wave 3? Never saw one single figure. Anywhere. Pegs have been empty everywhere since the reset in April. Only Wave 3 has been made available online so far, and with Walmart, even online orders are a roll of the dice. I have Wave 3 ordered and I really hope it comes. I have zero confidence that I will find Wave 4 and I'm not even planning to "hunt" too hard for it if the distribution is on par for Walmart. There's really no good reason why Wave 4 wasn't offered online. I'll try to order Series 5 and we'll see what happens with that.
