I'm not trying to advocate for anyone to go against the policy or anything, I'm just trying to understand why they don't want it streamed?

SDCC has always had that policy. They want what’s being seen at the event to be special for the attendees. I only know of one occasion when a Mattel panel was streamed live and it was from someone in attendance using periscope. RSC will likely be posting pics during or shortly after with their taped panel going up on YouTube a few days after.
