When he went out of his way to say “worldwide”, it makes me assume he’s not talking about an American person. I don’t think there is a bigger name worldwide than Andre who isn’t American. There aren’t many bigger names than Andre at all. Hogan is on a short list. If it is an international star, whoever it is, I don’t think they’re a bigger name than Andre, but the ones that are close would be el santo, inoki, and maybe mil mascaras.

Inoki, Vince McMahon, and El Santo are about the only others that a case can be made for…and that is a tough case.

So I’ve been thinking about what’s making me hesitate about this line, besides the unproven brand name, given how much of a fan of the form factor I am and how much I have been pushing on here for others to get involved. To me, it’s the execution. I don’t actually really like “retro” figures. I like modern figures that pay homage to their retro predecessors. This has been executed very well, to me, with retro style packaging and attires/ poses that pay respect to the originals- ie, Mattel’s Coliseum Collection. Similarly, I’m a big fan of Hasbro doing retro style packaging on their elite style figures- Marvel Legends X-Men figures in 90’s style packaging, and Star Wars 6” black series Anniversary figures in original style packaging. I don’t really enjoy most of the figures that are close to the actual old style, whether it’s WWF Hasbro style, Remco style, Star Wars smaller line, etc. For the LJN form factor, Major’s Big Rubber Guys hits the sweet spot for me because it’s nostalgic to my favorite toy line ever, while also improving in its overall detail and quality. I still think the lack of throwback packaging keeps them from being perfect, but I’ve accepted that and have accrued a nice loose display. For me to get into this line, I think they would have to vary from the originals in legend selections, adding their own style (like Major is doing). I like their packaging, but the figures themselves just look like reposed LJNs so far to me. I’m still interested though, will keep watching.

I'm actually the opposite of you...I basically hate modern figures and all their silly hands and joints and lack of durability. Every time I buy a Marvel Legend or Spider-Man figure in that throwback packaging, I kick myself and say "you just wanted the packaging...go buy the original!" and typically, I do just that. I would much prefer LJNs that look like LJNs (and Hasbros that look like Hasbros), so this line does interest me to some degree. I'm not an LJN collector, but a collector of certain guys, so I am paying attention to what this cat is doing, for sure.

I am with you on the loads of extra hands trend, that’s for sure. So many extra parts doesn’t look good to me, as a mostly MOC collector.

I was going to hold off but I went ahead and ordered it. I assume the packaging for this will be the box styled as discussed for the other andre?

I typically don't preorder from unproven companies after my experience with rush but these look so good plus from his video it seems like he's genuine and will deliver so I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt

This might sound like a bit of a weird comment to make, but doesn't that concern anyone else that someone who is wants to produce and looking to sell a product within such a specific entertainment form as pro wrestling doesn't know a name like Disco Inferno? I mean, he's not an timeless generational star - I get that. But Disco was relatively prominent in late 90's in WCW programming till the companies demise- and then still popped around different promotions like TNA and WWA etc afterwards.... I understand the love of LJN figures means you would naturally hone in on a certain time frame when the line was at it's height of popularity and therefore focus on certain wrestling personalities, but I would have thought that the knowledge of wrestling characters would expand a bit further when you're marketing a product to sell. Same as if you were working on a Marvel/DC/GI Joe line etc, you might not be an expert on them, but I imagine you'd still have an idea of wider and lesser known characters too.... either way, just something that stood out to me. the Latoonie product doesn't do anything for me anyway so Im just passively keeping up with it so it's not like he's gained or lost a customer in me. To be fair, Disco's own mother denies knowing who he is.

Well, credit for pulling away from things LJN has done. It’s very unique, that’s for sure. But… not for me.

😂 underpants flair This just a random fall 98 nitro crazy flair interview but I don’t recall any significance. Why not do a tuxedo flair look when getting the horsemen back together?

I do not know who would want that... At least it is not a "plane ride from Hell" version of Flair.
