Easy pass, I don't need a British Bulldog with a bulldog head... it's an interesting concept, but I don't see the market here
there's already a plethora of Bulldog figures on the horizon, is there really appetite for another but with a dog's head? (that interestingly they haven't shown yet, so may look more like a cartoon poodle, who knows

As a Bulldog fan, I'd say that as a collector's item it's up there with G&G's Bulldog/Diana Wembley 2 pack. It's one for Bulldog fans that would look great as display pieces, but I wouldn't be spending upwards of £50+ on it which is what they wanted for the Bulldog/Diana pack, which I opted out of for that reason.
The price point on these "retro" style figures really doesn't reflect what they are.
They're not incredibly detailed, not incredibly articulated, most of the time they're not exactly perfectly crafted, nor are they large statuesque display pieces... They're Hasbro style wrestling figures that are often missing paint and aren't even built for play. Yet premium prices are being asked for them a lot of the time, and that's what keeps me from buying up a lot of these figures.
They're fun, and they're nostalgic, but they're not Sideshow collectibles or anything along those lines. Hasbro were about £5-£10 over here in the UK back in the day. These aren't Hasbro, they're often not as good as Hasbro ever were, and people are constantly expected to pay over the odds for them because they're "niche", but they're not even that niche anymore as everyone's making them.
That being said, I'd like this figure on my wall in a well made display box that I hope they're gonna provide. But it all comes back to the price for me, cos at the end of the day it's a minimally articulated 4" figure that would probably chip and fall apart after a tussle with a Hasbro, and that goes for all of these current retro lines, not just this new one.

Did a tiny bit more digging. Apparently these will be limited to 500 pieces - but there might be two versions. They have an artist doing additional cartoon work for advertising and maybe packaging. It gives us a look into what the face or gear might be like. http://instagram.com/p/C6i_TQ5v8CC

At least the 2-pack with Diana made sense in a WWF environment... It did, but it didn't make financial sense to be paying £54 for a Bulldog and what looked like a legend of Zelda character, especially when the actual tag teams they're selling in the same line cost the same amount. This is more of a "fun" collector's piece, imo. Like WWE zombies, etc. It'll be great for Bulldog fans, but only if the price makes sense.

The Davey Boy with the braids looks really cool, other one not so much. I think it's a neat concept, something a bit different and that's never really a bad thing in a heavily saturated Retro market.

It's not gonna be for everyone, but it's just different enough that I might pick this up! Hasbros and Retros aren't my thing because I grew up in TTL and RA eras, but the market is HEAVILY saturated with Hasbro/Retro-like figures(Rush/G&G/ZST). This is different enough from that formula that I'm actually kinda interested lol. Kinda gives me Street Sharks vibes or how in the WWF In Your House video game Davey's head would morph into a bulldog and take a bite out of the opponent.
It's a neat idea! Just gotta see a sample and price.

The oversaturation of Hasbro style figures is also why I'm so looking forward to seeing the Galoob style line take off. The BCA style is fun, and I loved those during my early teens, but I've not really been too interested in collecting the new ones, same with the LJN stuff and bendies.

Steamboat as a dragon Slaughter as a cobra JYD as a dog Santana as a bull JYD seems ideal for this line. Dynamite Kid, too.
