Just finished watching MITB. And I have a few thoughts to share. Nice that Drew won even if it was unbearably predictable. That spot with Gable tossing LA onto the ladder was dope. But this felt like an oddly short MITB match. Sami Zayn just straight up sucks. He looks homeless, his gear is so bland it hurts to look at, and a weak kick in the corner is such a weak finisher. Crazy to see Cena announce his retirement like that, I'm already looking forward to his match with Baron Corbin on night 1 of WM41 in the middle of the card. That botch in the WHC match was unreal. Killed the entire end to what I thought was the best Priest match to date. Zoey Stark has the right idea with the face paint, just try to cover up more next time... Please? There were some wacky spots in that womens MITB, few looked good but that Chelsea bump at the end was fire. Even if I roll my eyes a little at her covering her head. Tiffany winning was equally predictable, but still nice. Why on earth did the Bloodline stuff go last? I nearly fell back asleep during it and I only woke up a few hours ago.

And as always, Rocky's match ratings that nobody asked for: Mens MITB - 2/5 Zayn v Breakker - 1.5/5 Priest v Rollins - 3.5/5 Womens MITB - 3/5 Bloodline v SmackDown Avengers - 1.5/5 Nice spots, some decent sequences, but god damn never put ing Solo Sikoa and Randy Orton in the main event over nothing. That'll put you to sleep like nothing else. It was overall not as good as I thought it would be, and the longer the show went, the harder it dropped off. Hopefully Summerslam can better deliver on the hype.

laughed at Camacho botching that Low Blow I mean he looked concussed from that Cody dive where he slammed the back of his head against the announcers desk. Not sure I blame him for it, he could barely stand up.

Seth/Preist botch was crazy. We all thought Seth had it.

Love that the sponsors got perfect framing.

Ok, so why did the 6 man main event? The only possible explanation I'd have thought would have been Reigns return. The World title match would have been a brilliant way to close a PLE. Maybe they thought it would have been too similar to CATC?
Every match delivered, I especially enjoyed the Women's MITB, but the match order bothers me more than it probably should.

Really enjoyed this PLE.
Bloodline needed to win & did in style ✅️
Tiffy or Lyra were going to win the Women's mitb. Tiffy the right choice she's so talented, ✅️ lyra will get her shot again 🇮🇪
WHC match was great....Punks interference was on point and the match itself was good stuff ✅️
Men's MITB was decent
Annoyed Bron didn't best Zayn ❌️

So it’s a surprise when it does happen? Maybe because Cody vs Solo is going to main event Summerslam

Bloodline lite vs. Cody/KO/Orton is boring as and no one cares. What we do care about, is the return of Roman and getting to the Cody/Orton feud.

Great PPV overall. I'd say the standards are so high nowadays, that's maybe why a lot of fans felt like it undelivered.

Man, I didn't like anything besides the Women's MitB match lmao. Doesn't help that I got spoiled on everything but the Women's MitB.
Men's MitB - Not a terrible match, but Drew winning really sucks considering what happens later in the show. Andrade's Sunset Flip Powerbomb into the ladder is just gonna be his signature spot, huh? Lol, nonetheless it looked cool/brutal as hell. Chad Gable hitting a German suplex to a ladder was great, and him hanging from the briefcase was cool as well. Really glad Jey Uso didn't win, really wish Carmelo Hayes would, have won.
Sami Vs. Bron - Fine match, not really bad. Just felt a bit average I guess? Would've been happy if Bron won, but I'm also happy Sami is continuing his reign.
Priest Vs. Rollins - Dude. This is like one of my least favorite PPV matches in a LONG time and it's mostly because of the booking decisions. That match itself wasn't particularly bad, but there was a decent bit of botches with Rollins basically not connecting with a Curb Stomp, whiffing a few knees, but most egregiously was Priest straight up didn't kick out. Whether he was knocked loopy or they mistimed McIntyre's music hitting? Idk, but it pretty much killed the match. Drew cashing in a losing immediately negates half of the point this PPV's gimmick. We easily could've just booked this as a 3-Way with Priest/Rollins/McIntyre. They all have valid reasons, McIntyre got screwed in Scotland and Rollins needs a rematch from Wrestlemania. Punk could have still cost Drew, and Balor could have cost Priest. Rollins cold have won the title leading to Rollins/Gunther, Balor/Priest, and Punk/McIntyre at Summerslam all while still saving the briefcase for someone else to get an opportunity later. My guess is they went this route because Cody isn't gonna lose his title anytime soon, and neither is Gunther when he inevitably beats Priest at Summerslam. Not one person was asking for a Gunther/Priest match, a Gunther/Rollins match would sell more tickets/just straight up be better lmao.
Apologies for the rant for that match, that match made me genuinely mad, which wrestling has not done to me in quite a long time.
Women's MitB - Lots of botches, but also a lot more fun spots here overall. IYO basically hitting a Rikishi Driver off a ladder onto a ladder was insane, and Chelsea taking a crazy looking fall of the ladder was sweet too. And the right person actually won!! Tiffany was absolutely the right choice, although I will say I was rooting for Chelsea and Lyra too. My prediction is that Bayley will beat Nia at Summerslam, Nia attacks Bayley after the match, then Tiffany cashes in.
Bloodline 2.0 Vs. RK-Owens/Cody - Idk man it was fine I guess. Tonga Loa botching the low blow was hilarious, and Jacob Fatu hitting a Whisper in the Wind was sweet too, but besides that I wasn't too into this overall.
John Cena announcing his retirement run was also not expected at all. Definitely gonna have to hit the Rumble next year, I gotta see Cena before he goes out.

The hardest thing for me in watching WWE PPVs anymore is that you get around 90 minutes of bell-to-bell action inside of a 3 hour event. Each night of WrestleMania this year was like 45% in-ring action. There is so much wasted time and I just get so bored waiting for the next match to start.
Thought it was funny that Triple H even said something on the press conference about past PPVs being 6-7 hours. Man, at current pace, it would take that long to do a 7-8 match card like they used to for the big four. And we'd only get about half of it as actual wrestling.
This PPV had rougly 1 hour 26 minutes of bell-to-bell wrestling inside of a 3 hour PPV..and personally I didn't think the wrestling we got inside of that hour and a half was all that much. Decent to good wrestling packed in between blocks of commercials and yelling commentators who need to be on camera for some reason.

Good thing today's audience doesn't much care for wrestling in their pro wrestling.

Womens MITB was the best match. Serious banger.
Mens MITB was a great match. Drew winning was cool.
Main event was good enough. Solo pinning Cody surprised me.
World Title match was good but everyone in my house thought Seth had it. Crazy botch lol. Punk screwing Drew was cool. No more cash ins for the mens division anytime soon.
IC Title match was good. Sami winning was a big shocker.

And we'd only get about half of it as actual wrestling. None of it would be actual wrestling. The 24/25 NCAA season will start soon enough though if that’s what you’re into.
