Are RVD's knees pinless? If not, definetly want to swap them out. Those kick pads look horrible.

Disciple is an epic figure, really hoping Mattel can get more "first time" and "deep dive" names into the MNW line, particularly on the WCW/NWO side.

RVD’s legs are trash. Ruins the figure.

How do they continually mess up RVD figures? Disciple looks amazing, figure of the year candidate.

I think it’s interesting that RVD now has thicker legs, but Mattel hasn’t bothered to sculpt his biker shorts. It’s such a pet peeve and imo adds to overall look of his singlet. I’m tired of a lot of our major wants not having sculpted biker shorts. I hope they don’t do this with Scott Steiner.

Thanks for the pics! It's good to see them hand-on.
From a marketing perspective, The Disciple is the perfect BAF figure. It's an unessential deep cut that wouldn't be a hot seller on its own, but because it's still a memorable gimmick that hasn't been done before, it makes completing the set more worthwhile to add depth to the era.
I love Harlem Heat (and really want the chases despite knowing it's a fool's errand), have always wanted this particular RVD attire, but already have the previous Rock from the Faarooq 2-pack. However, this Rock is slightly better with the TrueFX and more accurate torso choice, and if getting him means completing The Disciple, it's easier to justify it.
RVD though...I'm normally not too big of a stickler for this kind of thing, but Mattel needs to take both RVD and Billy Gunn and give them taller kickpads that meet at the smaller kneepads. I'm glad they at least gave RVD the smaller pads in place of the dreaded 'leg sleeves', but having black paint in place of boots sucks. The only thing worse is Billy Gunn's figures having bare flesh between his boots and pads. Gonna have to display him behind a bigger dude and possibly swap the head out; still not sure about the latter. Cool attire, at least?

The Disciple is BY FAR the best figure in the Monday Night Wars series -- by 100 miles.
I'm usually pretty positive on Mattel -- but hard to believe this is the "BAF" -- and shows you what this line could have actually been if executed better.

Cool attire, at least? i think billy gunn would benefit most from the legends series 1 road warrior boots. those boots would work decently well for hbk too. kind of baffling the those boots were used early on for the road warriors and haven't been seen again since. i'm sure the mold is long gone also so maybe that factors into them being a one and done part

Either RVD's arms are too big/long, or the head is too small.

How the hell did RVD get Johnny Gargano syndrome. Do better Bill Like I said, I see why they gave RVD different boots then he normally wears. His matches during the ECW 97 Invasion had him wearing different boots then what he came accustomed to wearing. They didn’t even have RVD or Van Dam down the sides. So I get they were going for accuracy, but man it looks bad.

Solid wave overall. Are there faults? yes (looking at you RVD). At least I can put a different head on the RVD and be mostly happy with it. The Disciple looks stunning. Hoping Smyths deliver on this one in the UK and give us a fair chance of acquiring the set at retail price.

Harlem Heat & The Disciple look great; I really hope I get my Walmart preorders. I won't be searching for these at retail since my area never got Series 2 and it was a complete waste of time & effort.
I'd love to find the chase Harlem Heat but it's just not worth searching for something that's the stores aren't stocking.
If I need other items from Walmart, I'll check while I'm there.

They just look terrible… Do they make him taller by any chance?? Out of their whole catalog, I think the closest looking boots imo are the demolition boots or Seth’s with the sculpting on the kickers. They had better options, but the fact that they’re pinless makes it non fixable.

The only thing I thought about doing was switching the legs from the swivel down, but that means removing a good portion of the blue shorts on the upper thighs. It's really a lose lose.
