I was reading Toy News International -- and someone posted this comment about a Habsro line. Do people who collect other lines know this is true? If yes, maybe the issue is really partly Mattel... "You will see them on Walmart.com and some of them on HasbroPulse. Walmart exclusives haven't been hard to find for a while if you order online." In Canada we get none of the Walmart Mattel exclusives from WWE or Masters of the Universe and we get all the Hasbro ones the same day as the US does. It definitely is a Mattel issue.

I love seeing figures like the Harlem Heat chases already selling for 60 bucks or more a piece online and being unable to find them for retail price in the biggest retailer on the planet! And the fact we're looking at Series 3 already when no one was able to get Series 2? Chef's kiss! Très magnifique! Great job, Walmart and Mattel! #ShippersSaveLives Yeah, it’s incredibly annoying. We don’t even get a chance at them. I hope nobody buys them for secondary prices and they just sit there. I would NEVER pay anything above retail for wrestling figures. Ever. I don't order from Ringside, I don't buy on eBay. If I can't get it in person or Amazon, I clearly don't need it. Probably why my Mattel collection is so dated; I buy what I can find and that's about it.

Gotta admire the resolve, even if it's probably as unrealistic as you can get in the current market for collectibles. But I guess, at least you realize that, and are at peace with it.

I am considering overpaying for an Adam Pearce BAF only because I don't want any of the figures in the set and I know I am too lazy to sell them.

If I can't find it retail, I'm at peace not having it. And even then, there are a ton of figures that I am like "I will wait for clearance or a sale" to buy.

At the end of the day, I have a lot more fun digging through $1 bins and $3 bins at toy shows and flea markets than I would EVER have driving all around town to find my 5th Booker T figure in my collection. If I can't find it at the Walmart or Target close to my house, I just call it a wrap on that particular figure. 75% of my wrestling figure collection is in tupperware bins in the attic at this point anyway.

I wouldn't be mad if they included any of DX members but with the Bushwhackers pants mold, a cloth DX shirt and any of their accessories from the Target line (helmets, bullhorns, etc)
I just didn't love the cloth camo pants from Target.

I only collect Retros, and if I had to pay a mark-up for Alundra Blaze or Isaac Yankem, I would. I guess the difference is they're only putting out 12 figures a year.. And as much as I really like what Grapplers and Gimmicks and others are doing, I don't have a ton of interest in retros if Mattel isn't producing them, so I'm really not paying much yearly as is.

Granted it's a small sample because it's only based off of 2 YouTubing toy hunters that I watch (Jimmy Wrestling and I forget the other guy) from the UK. But I want to know how Smyth's does it?!?! Each video I watch, especially Jimmy's, he goes in and the Smyth's pegs are LOADED!!!! I put this on the MNW S3 thread because I was watching a YT from just like 2-3 days ago and there were handfuls of each S3. All may not be like that I get it, but judging from my area WMs (that are pretty good at putting out new stuff, including WM exclusives) and from other hunters that I watch on YT and of course here on the Boards, S3 is very scarce. But every video is, again, just loaded with figs from all lines. So again, I ask, what is Smyth's doing that WM is not?!?!

Smyths is a specialty retailer exclusively dealing with toys and games Walmart isn’t so their focus isn’t on toys is my guess..

This line has been a chore to find. Still need to find Scott Hall, Austin, and Fake Diesel. Was able to get both chase Harlem Heat though.

Here's something to think about though -- if Smyths is always fully stocked like it is, that means those figures aren't selling.
I worry about a place like that going out of business -- I don't know how they make the retail model work.
