Episode 1, October 4, 2000
The show opens with Joey Styles in the ring, accompanied by Cyrus The Virus. Joey looks confused as to why Cyrus is in the ring, but goes on to say that he has some rather unfortunate news to share with the fans. They then show footage of a match from a live event over the weekend where Jerry Lynn successfully defended the ECW World Championship against Steve Corino. Following the match, Corino with the help of Rhino injured the world champion, thus Joey has to announce that the ECW World Title has been vacated, but a new champion will be crowned in 2 weeks at Ultra Clash, on October 15th. Cyrus then interrupts and says that the network deserve a better champion than Jerry Lynn, which annoys Joey. This brings out Paul Heyman who informs Cyrus that this is a new network, and he does not work for them, so he can get the hell out of the ECW Arena. Joey then laughs and says "I think you've been let go, buddy". Cyrus angrily shoves Joey, until security enters the ring and drags Cyrus out of the building to loud cheers and "get the f*** out" chants from the crowd. Joey celebrates and says lets get started with the first match as he exits the ring.

Van Dam quickly runs them off with a series of kicks, and checks on Meanie and Nova, but then he's attacked by the Television Champion, Rhino who nails a nasty Gore. Back in the ring, The FBI were able to put away York and Matthews after Guido nailed the Sicillian Slice on York, making this now a two on two. FBI looked to be on their way to retaining their titles until some miscommunication while going for the Rocket Launcher led to Mikey nailing a top rope Whippersnapper on Guido to pick up the win, and become the new ECW World Tag Team Champions. Mikey and Tajiri celebrate the win, as the camera cuts back to Joey Style who wants to thank all of the fans that tuned, until he's interrupted.
Steve Corino is back in the ring, this time with the ECW World Title in his hands. He says he deserves this championship, and there's no man who can tell him otherwise. This brings out Shane McMahon, on behalf of Paul Heyman who says this isn't how things are gonna go, but he will get his chance at Ultra Clash in a four way ladder match for the vacant championship. Corino demands to know who the other three men in the match will be, to which Shane says Corino is on a need to know basis for that information, but he will reveal one of those men, right now...
After a brief moment of anticipation, "Ready or Not" by The Fugees begins playing in the arena as Scott Hall makes his way out of the entrance way in classic Scott Hall fashion. The crowd is going nuts as Corino stands in awe, with Joey Styles exclaiming "Scott Hall is in ECW!" as the first episode of Thrill Zone comes to an end
