About to be 36. I’ve more or less stopped. I’ll still pick up the occasional figure that blows my mind when I can inevitably find them at retail or less than retail. The re-releases and over production have just absolutely killed the fun of collecting for me.
I feel the same. I'm really glad for people who truly collect these that they are so plentiful, and for the most part very easy to get. But without them being hard to find, or at least going for twice retail, it would make me less inclined to search stores and maybe buy a few. That chase was exciting to me.
On the other hand, for the Retros, which I do collect, I would be really pissed if there were some that I had to pay 3x4 time retail for -- so I get the boat Mattel is in...

40.
Got back into when I was 37/38. With the limited availability for international collectors I see myself quitting this year. Missing out in the Superstars line aswell as all those Ultimate exclusives (especially MNW), makes me losing interest alltogether.

I have a few MOTWWEU and Superstars figures, but for the most part I only collect retros. Gave up collecting the main lines in 2017. Had collected pretty much everything up to elite 50, I think.

I'm 81 and collecting just as fast as I'm selling off. I get some new talent but not very many. Legends are where it's at for me (Golden Era, New Gen, Attitude Era). Selling a lot of my collection has become just as addicting as buying. I don't look at any of this as an investment, so buying and selling is just natural to me. I'll buy every Bret, Warrior, Savage and sometimes Hogan. I'm a Bret mark, so I love his figs. Oh, whoops. Not 81, I'm 41. Just wanted to see how many people I could shock right off the bat. seriously 81. I thought I would be oldest 57. Hats 🎩 off to you sir. Long may it continue . You had me going there I think I am the oldest. Always thought pj was a young guy.

42 (MEANING OF LIFE!...if you get that you're my kinda people) Anyway, I'm only collecting Legends and throwback themed characters and attires from pre Mattel...I'm collecting every Comic Marvel Legends, Every GI Joe Classified from '82-'89, Collecting Comics and sports cards, and have a bunch of other expenses, I can't buy current. Plus, I'm not buying every rerelease in the Greatest Hits line or vault, just because of an extra Elbow Joint...

I just turned 49 on June 1 … I recently went through my Moc collection & donated the figures that I didn’t feel were essential to me anymore … I haven’t bought a Wwe Mattel in over a year now as I’ve become more excited about figures like the BRG’s , PowerTown & others like that because they’re actually making or planning to make the figures of my personal old school favorites that Mattel will not touch probably ever … I will still buy Wwe Legends depending strongly on who it is but I cherry pick VERY heavily these days

I turned 51 on May 31 and used to collect only elites, but only recently have I started to collect basics. They have improved so much with the articulation and the figures have attires that we won't see as elites, for example the John Cena with the shirt based on the NES WrestleMania game. However, lately the distribution is so bad. Where I buy the figures from they hardly get elites anymore. The UE Andre the Giant got cancelled as well as elite 106,which I wanted to get the Paul Bearer figure from. They do get the basics, but the elites hardly anymore. Still waiting for Greatest Hits 3 if it won't get cancelled. There's not much fun anymore in collecting...

Legit question, no trolling -- if you're not having fun, why are you still doing it - and expanding the collection to Basics?

I’m 37…..been collecting since late 96 but I also went backwards and got a bunch of LJN and Hasbro. I’ve had some of the rarest and just sold em. I am trying to be a minimalist ….. extremely hard to keep a collection. I have had sheds full of figs MOC, literally thousands and I’ve sold most off. I keep a single closet and display case and only let myself keep what I can fit in those. I was a completist in the BCA days of all the subsets etc and have a huge Mattel collection too. I just keep a closet and case of my faves. Mostly Bret Hart and HBK stuff. I gave up many figs that are valuable and I love but I did t want them to sit and collect dust. The figs I still keep I make sure to look at and admire and spend time with because otherwise it’s just in the background. I enjoyed my childhood being a completist but my time is less to spend w my collection now so I just admire my faves

I'm from the Netherlands and there aren't many option to get these for retail prices. This online store, which is based here in the Netherlands, used to get all the waves of elites in the past, but recently they don't get every wave anymore. So I have to get them elsewhere, overseas, which costs a lot more. I'm still enjoying collecting, but when waves get canceled it just sucks.
