Dropdown hips killed it for me. The toe articulation was obnoxious enough to me, but the dropdown hips are keeping me away. I was so stoked to get Asuka and that amazing robe. Then I accidentally pulled down her leg and went, “Oh, right. Dropdown hips.” And I gave a “meh” face. As a hardcore fiddler, drop down hips feel fragile to me and limit range of motion. They’re better for like a Big Boot, but not by much. And my Ultimate AJ Styles’ legs are getting a little floppy in the hips. If the point of dropdown hips is to help with posing, how? It creates a gap between the thigh and the crotch piece that looks weird. What poses does it help with? If it’s for playability, I feel like I’m in danger of snapping the mechanism. I no longer hold this opinion. I just got MNW Bret Hart today and it’s such an amazing figure that it softened my dislike.

Kyle Peterson looks like a regular sized Hornswoggle which is why I refuse to watch any of his reviews Kind of reminds me of The Giant during his WCW run.

To be honest I've never liked the torso style on Ultimates and the butterfly joints look bad and too noticeable from the back. Another issue I find is Mattel are pumping way too many Ultimates which aren't worth the extra cash for some heads and hands.

Sorry but every single time I see this title I hear Christian Bale’s voice from the Dark Knight saying “I believe in Harvey Dent.” I don’t know why but I do. Dropdown hips killed it for me. I don’t care how amazing a figure looks (CC Piper) it still doesn’t soften the dislike for them! Drop down hips still blow!

Current talent ultimate sux plain and simple. Regular line was special when it had legends in them.

They took one sturdy barbell that attaches to the hips and turned it into multiple smaller pieces so the hips can be dropped down so they clear the crotch piece for a greater range of motion. But because they made it multiple smaller articulated pieces they are more fragile and can break if the figure falls off a shelf. While it hasn’t happened to any of my WWE figures I have had Mafex and DC Direct figures suffer from that fate. The pic on the right has the drop down hips engaged.

Also, my CC Jake Robert’s legs look off set because the drop down hip wasn’t put in probably. No bueno.

I'm just here to show my dislike for drop down hips and mainly Kyle Peterson. I'm sure he pretends to have a thick skin. However, there is clearly NO love for Kyle here on these boards. Countless posts that get disgusted reactions (including myself) whenever they mention the name. I think MAJOR POD posts his stuff because they like to see him get heat for being a mark. He can have his channel but the boards belong to us. Survey says, One more for the good guys!

Kyle gives me that "I work for my dad's business, and others at his business secretly hate me because I have the laziest most cush job at the company, and I like to think I am more important than I really am so I'll name drop celebrities that I've met, but I like to pretend that we're really close friends" vibe. Man I miss Metaldriver Reviews.

Thanks for the picture. When you say the one on the right has drop down hips "engaged" -- what does that mean? It comes like the picture in the left, and then what do you have to get them to do to "engage" like the one on the right?
What has Bill/Steve and the Mattel team said about the complaints, if anything?

It means you just pull them down so they have cleared the crotch piece.

I keep reading this as Scott Peterson wondering what does he have to do with action figures.
