I like it when they pay homage to classic figure attires/packaging/accessories etc via modern style figures (Ultimates, Elites, etc). But I have zero interest in actual old figure styles being remade or brought back, whether it's Hasbros, Remcos, LJNs, BendEms, OSFTMs, TTLs, RAs, or anything else. They were good when we didn't have anything better, and of course the memories will always have tremendous meaning, but modern figures have so much better detail, articulation, realism, accessories, everything really, and they're still improving as the years go by, just compare some of Mattel's WWE figures from the early days to what they put out now. On a side note I would love to see Mattel do some Toybiz WCW homage Ultimates/Elites. Again I'm talking modern figures, just copying the attires, packaging, accessories, etc. this x1000000000000 seeing those old figures most definitely makes me nostalgic, but its the main reason i skipped over the mattel basics all these years. im into action figures for the features i dreamed of them having when i was a kid. there was no way you could pose a proper Rock Bottom with the BCA figures, so much imagination needed; these new figures can do just about anything and the articulation points dont look super jarring. and just to be super frank i really couldnt be able to afford any more lines of nostalgic figures. i mean crap mattel just brought back Street Sharks and i LOVED street sharks when i was a kid and had all of them i want so bad to buy them up but i have no room or moneys left over from wrestling figure collecting.

No. Thankfully I grew up just past these figures. Cause if I got these for Christmas them sh*** getting yeeted back to the North Pole. It seems to be an unpopular opinion, but I’m grateful to have grown up with these. I was so bummed when this line ended and the Hasbro’s began. Even though I bought most of the Hasbro’s too, I always found the LJNs SO much more playable for a fig-fed. Of course, it’s all dependent on age/timing when you begin getting into it. BCAs were never my thing. And I do agree with what others have said about current figs having the best detail, articulation, etc.

They were never detailed sculpts to begin with so theres no need for them to be 8 inches anymore. So I think half size would be the way to go...somewhat similar to what Gentle Giant did with their Super Powers & Secret Wars recreations (the smaller scale ones not the jumbos). Wouldn't be surprised if someone is out there making smaller versions already, since the figures are all one piece, so relatively easy to scan and print.

My first wrestling figure was a TTL figure, so not are these nowhere close to nostalgia for me, but personally the concept of action figures without any action at all seems horrible to me.
If I wanted statuettes, I would have gone all in on Eaglemoss rather than just bought the Sami and Kevin ones.

Except that for at least some LJN collectors, that’s where Jakks and others have gone wrong. I, for one, would want same scale so it could still fit with the old LJNs. Big Rubber Guys are perfect in that regard.

LJNs have been my favorite toyline since I was a child (44 now, 5 in 1985 when they were released) so I grew up on those! I loved them then and love them now, last fall started buying used ones from the bay. But like I posted earlier, no profitability for a major, publicly traded company. Perfect for an indie company like MWFP guys, but not those like Mattel sadly.

Only if they are strictly CM Punk. Have to get Mattel’s new top seller into as many figure forms as possible, brother.

Sometimes nostalgia gets in the way. Just like how No mercy is still heralded as the best wrestling game ever. Those are 100% nostalgia glasses, because that game has been surpassed countless times. Yes, I remember emailing RS way back in the day before Jakks' deluxe line was introduced, I asked them if there will ever be Jakks' figures that move better, and they said something along the lines of passing it to them etc. Then they came, and I was excited, for all about 2 years when I realized every damn Jakks' deluxe was the same exact size just like the RA line that I hated. Then here comes Mattel to save the day, and aesthetically Mattel has thee best looking and best functional wrestling figures past and present no one does it better in the price range. As much we all gripe about part choices that could be better, overall they are still the best hands down."

Jakks and Jazwares have both tried to do LJNs and both have failed. There's no real demand, they're hard to do well, and they're not very appealing to kids.

Agreed, but the Major Bendies’ Big Rubber Guys proves that it can be done right, and create quite a following! I’m not sure how long it will last, of course, but I’ll enjoy it while I can!

Personally I have absolutely no desire to see anymore LJN style figures, I can't imagine any circumstances in which I'd buy one but if it got more legends deals signed then I hope they do. I wouldn't buy em but if it got some more names for the legends or coliseum collection line then so be it

Mattel should release a two pack each year on Mattel Creations along with a single RSC Exclusive.

Not really. I wasn’t a fan of them nearly 40 years ago and don’t think they have mass market appeal today.

Not even a drop. I didn’t grow up with them and no disrespect to those who have fond memories of them, but I look at them with relief that these weren’t what I had as a kid.

No disrespect, but I’m sorry you missed out on the greatest figures and era for wrestling, cartoons, and action figures in general. lol
