I was out figure hunting yesterday and stumbled upon this at a local walmart: Haven't seen one of these in almost 10 years. While this is a sad and pathetic thing to see it also kinda peeked my interest if anyone else stumbles upon these when they figure hunt. Made me wonder what others have saw in the past or to post on this thread as they see them and have a place to post these. I kinda thought if I was unrealistically rich I'd probably start buying these for a collection of WTF repack figures lol With this one I found its a pretty rare jakks stevie richards head! *Note*: This thread is not supporting this phenomenon, merely sharing these (hopefully) rare occurrences with the community of those interested.

Yeah frowned apon. But last week I saw two Elite series 106 Jey’s with the last BAF black pants Jey figures in it. One Jimmy the same way and a MNW Austin and Undertaker with their basic counterparts in the boxes all at the Monroe NY WalMart. This store gets them a lot.

There's a basic Balor repacked in a Supreme Punk box at one of the walmarts by me. When I have had to legit return a figure I always feel like they're over inspecting the box "what's wrong with it?!?"
Meanwhile some douche swaps out a basic and gets his 40 bucks back no problem

one of the wal marts by me has 4 repacks and they keep growing, someone is getting away with it and it needs to be stopped.
theres an AEW supreme kenny omega thats been repacked with a Basic Bret hart body with a Kenny Omega head. also a king woods figure swapped with a basic Kofi. AND THEN there was a kurt angle ultimate that had somehow been returned with matt riddle feet? i dunno people are freaking lame.

You can see this in any major retailer across the US from New York to Chicago to San Diego. This also kills the theory that retail employees steal figures to resell them on ebay because if they were this knowledgable about figures, these repacks would not be put back on the shelves.

It’s not rare. It’s frequent and annoying. I’ve seen it with Marvel Legends too. But let’s just reinforce the wrestling fan stereotype of being poor degenerates…
It’s pathetic, not funny that someone needs a Sami Zayn figure so bad they dig through their piles of older figures and do this crap. Call it whatever you want but it makes this hobby look like even more of redneck hillbilly pieces of crap.

And a lot of these old figures they use for switcheroos are Jakks figures from 17 years ago, so its got to be grown men in their 40s or 50s doing this crap.

I think retailers need to force Mattel to handle all returns going forward.

Yeah it’s unfortunate for actual returns, but I think Walmart and Target shouldn’t bother with action figure returns. Couple of my Walmarts don’t do returns at all even credit.

A couple of years ago, I saw an old Apollo Crews in a Keith Lee Elite box at my local Target. They even threw in that pink Dolph Ziggler shirt in place of Keith’s hoodie.

I would disagree. My knowledge that I can use for my personal gain wouldn't be shared with my employer for their gain. Idgaf about them.

I just want Steve to address it at some point. I have asked him on the Q&A thread multiple times. To me, this POS act is going to ruin the thrill of the hunt moreso than anything else. Yes it's a retail issue more than anything, but is also affects Mattel's bottom line. Such a jerk move.

Yes it's a retail issue more than anything, but is also affects Mattel's bottom line. Such a jerk move. Mattel, Hasbro and all the other toy companies know about this but other than using clamshell packaging a la Toybiz Marvel Legends where you need a scissor to totally cut open, there really isnt an immediate solution. Hasbro's windowless all-cardboard packaging also exacerbated the situation.
