Cool. But I’ve got Pillman already This. While Pillman isn't by any means the most covered or super recent in terms of figures (so my objection isn't especially directed at him specifically) still he has had a few decent figures already so isn't that interesting to most longterm collectors or those who want to build a deep roster. I'd really like to see WWE and Mattel push for new ways to bring us more frequent "First Time" and "Deep Dive" names. The WCW/NWO era in particular is lacking depth. That said, it seems there has been recent developments with WWE/Mattel in terms of new approaches or contract types for non-current talent (for example real classic referees are finally on the table, and we've had a few obscurities sprinkled in like the Gooker) so I'm hopeful WWE/Mattel are realizing there is demand for the non-A-list names - from mid-card to lower-card, from tag-teams to international luchas, women, managers, referees, announcers, commentators, interviewers, and even the occassional "wrestlecrap" gimmicks or jobbers.

I feel like if we weren't able to get a decent amount of those people when Jakks had the license, then it's an even longer shot hoping with Mattel. If they released a La Parka, I would've pre-ordered it yesterday.

Cool I guess for those didn't get any of his prior releases, but where are the fresh new talent? Why are there so few? Are we doomed to only get FTITL figures of gimmicks of people that have been signed for years? Fake Diesel and Sultan are great, but it's worrisome that we're not seeing fresh new talent.
Where are the Headbangers? Did Konnan not reach a deal after his appearance? Where is Billy Kidman who worked with the company for years?

The earliest possible time we were ever going to see anything was probably always Mania weekend.

I know the narrative is they never sign new talent but that’s not necessarily the case. Over the last couple years we’ve gotten figures or announcements of Peter Maivia, Capt Lou, RVD back in the line, Rick & Scott Steiner, Virgil returning to the line, Bischoff, Gordy, Teddy Long returning, Torrie Wilson, Stacy Keibler, Samu, Brother Love, Molly Holly, and probably more.

General statement here, and I'll probably get crucified or called a Mattel shill or whatever.
There have been a grand total of 3 Brian Pillman Mattel figures in 14 years, and the only one in his most popular/best gimmick was well over a decade ago, and despite the fact that being on this board might skew perception a bit, the vast majority collectors of this line haven't been collecting it since 2010. Tillman is absolutely a "fresh" face to introduce into this line right now.

Even tho a lot of us made a custom HB an official release is definitely needed. Probably be a smart move to throw HB Austin in the GH line around the same time. That being said, unless there’s a major upgrade to Loose Cannon I personally don’t need another Pillman.

Need a Hollywood Blonds to match Austin. Maybe a jeans and vest elite in the MNW line?

I was waiting for you to mention The Yellow Dog in all that, so I will: If Mattel need a deep dive, obscure, wrestlecrap kind of guy, Brian Pillman as The Yellow Dog would fit the bill.

I don't have any Pillman figures. Wasn't collecting early enough to get them. The chance to get one at all is great in my book. Honestly hope they make a Hart Foundation one that I can actually get ahold of. To be honest, I'd love to get ALL of the Hart Foundation as figures but for some dumb reason all the figures were either exclusives or released ages ago. The inability to put together an affordable Hart Foundation has kept me from bothering to try one at all but if I could get ahold of a Pillman figure from there, it might just convince me to give the rest of them a shot (and even make the Owen to match).

Rerelease his legends fig in the GH. Counterpoint: that figure sucks because the head looks like trash.
