Hello everyone! I recently lucked up and was able to purchase Earthquake and Typhoon at Target. The new Greatest Hits line. Anyways, neither one of them included a Tag Team Champion belt and my Typhoon included 3 closed fist hands. 2 in the plastic and one attached to him. Anyone else ran into this problem?

Very lucky!

do they look tampered with? someone could’ve ordered, stole the belts, then returned them. or could just be factory error. if they don’t look tampered with just reach out to Mattel and tell them

Yeah most likely somebody purchased those figures, took what he wanted out of them (The belts) and returned them.

Yeah most likely somebody purchased those figures, took what he wanted out of them (The belts) and returned them. It's becoming a real problem in many of the stores around me. Just sad. Things sit on the shelves forever because of these thieves. I really wish stores (Walmart's especially) would do better with returns. Some of the figures repacked look nothing like the figure that was taken. I don't purchase much other lines (TMNT, Marvel, DC, Star Wars, GI Joe), but I do look through them when I'm in stores, I don't see those lines having the same problem.

Do the arms have double joints or single joints…if single then someone swapped the figs with the 2016 figs too.

Yeah you got someone's switch and return. The original Typhoon has an open hand and a fist hand. Sounds like someone wanted an upgrade and has screwed someone else as a result.

I am seeing ripped open packages and stolen belts on the shelf...they aren't even going through the trouble of buying and returning.

Sounds like they were swapped with the original ones, why did you buy them if the tag belts were missing?

Sounds like they were swapped with the original ones, why did you buy them if the tag belts were missing? I bought them out of excitement. I usually buy the Ultimate Edition figures but I cherry pick which ones I’m gonna buy. But, I was excited to find Earthquake and Typhoon BOTH at my local Target. It’s the new updated packaging so I didn’t think much of them missing their belts. I thought they might have been tucked away behind the cardboard in the packaging. Anyways, long story short, it’s a lot to keep up with all of the updates, changes and everything Mattel has going on for these figures as a 36 year old who grew up on Hasbros and is trying to share the nostalgia with his 6 year old son also while is wife grew up watching WWE through the Ruthless Aggression Era, I’m doing the best I can over here 😂 Mattel did respond to my email and they are gonna resolve the missing belt situation for me, I just need to send them some codes off the bottom of the figures foot and proof of purchase. So after all of this said and done, I’ll be fine.

So after all of this said and done, I’ll be fine. Just following up: Mattel asked for a couple of codes of the figures feet then proceeded to tell me that they didn’t have the accessories in stock so they will be sending me a reimbursement check for my figures.

That's why I asked Steve on the Q&A if anything at all can be done. Highly likely not, it's probably a company loss prevention issue, not Mattel. It does affect their bottom line though. But these astard-bays are ruining it, man. Something has got to give. It's just another reason for the brick-and-mortars to order less and less.

Unfortunately, I don't think there is much that Mattel can do. Once Walmart order's them from Mattel, and they are in Walmart's stores, it's up to Walmart to at that point. Mattel doesn't have anything to do with Walmart's return policy. I think Walmart needs to adopt the old opened/returned policy they used to have back in the 90s and 2000s; once the item has been opened, you can no longer return it for your money back, the only thing you can do is get the same item in return. If the item has been unopened, then you can return it for a refund.

I agree it's a company (Walmart and Target) issue, but I am just hoping by bringing it up Steve that Mattel can put pressure for some change. Like I said, it affects Mattel's bottom line too, which is the crux of most change.
