Figheel is wrong - when the interviewer on that podcast asked Steve if they were cancelled, he said "they didn't make it, unfortunately" on camera. He went on to say that Big Lots didn't order them ("it didn't work out this year") and the other retailers didn't order enough to cover that shortfall. They talked about showing product and he noted that we saw something (WM basics) that aren't going to come, but they are always looking for ways to rescue figures (they just won't be released in the WM basic 40 series in 2024). Now maybe something has changed since then, but they were definitely cancelled as of 10/13/23 (and still might be - influencers can be wrong too). I remember this interview but the key sentence is "looking for ways to rescue figures". Figheel and Matt Cardona seem pretty confident about what they wrote/said and did this on more than one occasion. I know these guys might be wrong but I'm sure they have pretty good insight. As far as I know the cancellation of WM40 series wasn't related to legal issues so I wouldn't be surprised if they found a way to an exclusive retailer or just got a delayed release. We haven't seen news about new top picks figures and a set like this one with Reigns/Rollins/Batista could work pefectly as a quick replacement if there is a need for top talent. We will probably find out in the upcoming month or two. I saw the comments from Figheel on Instagram and he's wrong. He kept posting that they were NEVER cancelled like you said. Steve confirmed they were cancelled. Ringside said that Mattel notified them that they were cancelled and that the set wouldn't be produced. That's totally different from "Ringside just isn't carrying them" like Figheel is saying. You even posted a previous thread about it with Ringside's notification. I'm not debating if they will be rescued or released because I don't work for Mattel and know the answer to that. I'm just saying that it's hard to believe some random guy on the Internet when he has other details of the story flat out wrong.

Still hoping we get Thanos Rollins in the elite line one day.

What I'm mostly surprised by is the lack of WrestleMania branded figures this year especially when it's the show's anniversary and it's probably in WWE's interest. During WrestleMania XXX season Mattel put out six Elites, four Basics, two Battle Packs and a WrestleMania Collection six pack. That means twenty figures in total. Now we only have one Elite set with four Superstars who probably won't even be feautured at this year's WM. At least the Basic set had two current world champions and a potential HOF headliner. 😉 For me it just seemed liked a well thought out set overall in terms of marketing. But after seeing the pics I was let down because these were just going to be rereleases with new articulation. I only look forward to this Ali and that's why I'm still following all the news about this set.

The elites have already hit Target stores (at least in Chicago) and have been on Amazon. They are also up for preorder on Walmart - I'm assuming they will be on a shipper closer to WM in March.

Already got the John Cena (wanted an Elite Cena with the updated articulation). Miiiight get The Rock for the same reason.
No interest in McAfee, Trish, or a random child in a WrestleMania shirt.
