It's the same for us Jazwares Fortnite 1/18 line fans, as well. If you aren't on instagram or twitter and following the superfans...You would know absolutely nothing about the line until you walked up on new products on the shelf. I'm reposting this because you all are skipping right over this and my Pokemon post. This is JAZWARES problem, not an AEW problem. K? K.

Watching AEW tonight. We might still be near a year from the Gunn Club, Jay White, and Copeland (if not more). Hell some of these names in future lineups might jump ship by the time it's there turn. Then time gets wasted in tooling all for nothing.
I hope they either change lineups or figure out the push they advertised years ago.
I know I'm preaching to the choir here, you'd think people on the business end of this would realize a change is in need.

I've done my fair share of complaining, and I'll do plenty more another day, but let's be honest: there's no way they'll ever truly catch up. Mattel pumps out hundreds of WWE figures a year between basics, elites, ultimates, Superstars, Retros etc. That goes a long way to help with the fact that it typically takes a year to go from concept to store shelves. With AEW/Jazwares its just Unrivaled and Unmatched with the rare Supreme at Walmart. We are long past the point of "the plan is to have Unmatched and Unrivaled trading off each month". That would probably have killed the line.
My hope is that there's a solid plan in place to have Vault satiate us in between these long 4-5 month gaps where nothing comes out, but I shouldn't get my hopes up like that.

I haven't been keeping up with the news on the AEW line super well. I know there was some restructuring within Jazwares, or they got bought/merged with another company(?), but after what have they said anything about why'd they're taking so long to release stuff?

I haven't been keeping up with the news on the AEW line super well. I know there was some restructuring within Jazwares, or they got bought/merged with another company(?), but after what have they said anything about why'd they're taking so long to release stuff? That merger put a halt on all production for about 6 months. There were several store exclusives that hung on shelves for a long while because it seemed like the only product they were shipping to stores. Then came the period where as they were finally sending new product to Target and Walmart they were also have old product supposedly pulled from shelves to make room. Supremes exist now as Walmart Exclusives (let's see what happens with Vault). The Bunny was announced as a chase to ensure there wouldn't be Bunny figures clogging the shelves for years. The same will be done with the single release of Billy Gunn and Abadon was scrapped from the line for no given reason just as she was brought back to TV. Jazwares is launching Jazwares Vault and that's going to be where the ROH figures will be sold along with other excluvies like a Malachi Black. It was alluded to that The Bunny would also somehow be made available on Vault, but I'm personally doubting that one now. We've know about Vault for nearly a year but still have 0 information on when they plan to launch any of their product on their. That, just about wraps up 2023 in a nutshell. Unlike Mattel, we are left in the dark wondering what is going on, if future line ups are still expected to come out as planned or even if there's going to be any kind of Jazwares news the week of AEW PPVs. Gone are the Fanfest days.

It really is baffling. Like, Are we to expect nothing news-wise until Revolution? That is in MARCH!!!

The original lineup for Unmatched 8 was shown in May of 2022 (not a typo). Unless they're scrapping what was planned and jumping ahead in time, which seems unlikely based on recent history, there probably isn't much to share beyond maybe a new RSC figure and maybe more Vault info.

Yeah, I’ve tried to remain positive, but with the lack of new figs/news and AEW just being over BLEH… i can’t say I’m super into these anymore. I’ll still pre order FTITL and updated looks I see them, but i used to be all over this line and paid attention to every development. Can’t say I’ll have that enthusiasm going forward.

I'd expect maybe a new AEW Shop Exclusive around Revolution time, but no idea who it could or would be. Samoa Joe could be a good guess

The only critique I'll dip into is I wish the torso joints to fit a tad more securely. Customization is fine and all but wrestlers constantly splitting in half during every flippy move takes ya out of the moment.

I often go back and forth in my mind regarding what THE moment was when AEW started to get cold. Cody leaving? Tony buying ROH? The Hangman/Punk promo? Brawl Out? Or maybe it is just the overarching Tony Khan/Elite management style. All I know is, aside from Brawl Out (shifting around lineups), none of those could or should be used as an excuse for Jazwares' fumbles. Jazwares' issues lie solely with Jazwares. Why do we get so infrequent product updates/reveals? Why is distribution still abysmal? Why are lineups always announced and then changed 3-5 times after? Remember Jeremy's Unrivaled/Unmatched every other month retail plan? We're in 2024 now and still have zero update about Vault. It took a rogue Jazwares employee to come to this forum and tell us more about this line than the company or Jeremy has told us for over a year (then he vanished). AEW hasn't been giving mainstream wrestling audiences much to be excited about but that shouldn't stop Jazwares from a proper schedule and being timely. We're not in supply chain COVID mode anymore. AEW wrestling itself? I think it started going downhill at Brawl Out and Tony Kahn made (in my opinion) his biggest mistake and not siding with CM Punk, who was clearly the biggest draw there. Once he was put on the shelf, it seems like any plans they had went out the window and they have never seemed to get back on track. Plus - they have too many wrestlers and cannot feature enough of them for long enough to get good storylines going. I find it ironic that as I type this I am watching Cody Rhodes and CM Punk in the ring, confronting each other on the Raw before Royal Rumble. The two biggest losses BY FAR from AEW. All the big names they brought in? Adam Cole. Brian Danielson. Edge Adam Copeland. None of them gave even a small portion of the ratings that CM Punk did. The toyline seems to have gone the same way. They seem to have simply fallen apart. That L O N G gap where there was no new product coming out - to Ringside or to the shelves. That on top of what can be called anything else but $h!t communication from the company, was a big hurt. New things are trickling in to Ringside, and even a few things hitting retail. Hopefully they can get back on track, but I am not holding my breath. Will be interesting to see where they are a year from now.
