I've had this on-going debate with my girl on which one, is the best way to drive an automatic car. Do you use one foot for the peddles or both?
I like to use both. One for the gas, and the other for the brakes. She likes to use one foot for both peddles

One foot is the safe way. It amazes me how laid back American road authority can be. (using 2 feet in Oz would get you a fail here and insurance would take you to town too if they find out)
2 feet is actually dangerous, you only supposed to use 2 on the brake when you're heading into a big crash (that's why the brake pedals are sometimes wider)
Where you a manual driver before?
Please give my kudos to your girl for being a mindful, safe and proper driver.

I use my hands for the pedals and steer with my feet.

One foot automatically. I typically drive stick shifts would feel insanely weird to use my left foot on a pedal that isn't a clutch.

just one foot, lol.
i do remember trying the two foot method as a teenager thinking i was one upping the competition but it just made my braking horrible. stopped it after my dad was in the car and was like 'what the hell was that stop?!'.

As a teenager I was driving a forklift long before a car. You drive a forklift with 2 feet and that's what I got used to. I flat out can't drive with one foot. Hours a day with both feet for years is a habit I can't break, and it would be wildly dangerous for me to start at this point.
As a 2 footer I also think the idea of transferring my foot from the gas to the brake rather than just already having a foot on the brake seems like a waste of time when every split second can count.
I'm the only person I know who drives like this, and everyone I know thinks I'm crazy for doing it. People keep saying, "if you panic you'll press both feet down." All I can say to that is, "why would I do that?" I think that's a problem for the untrained/uninitiated.

Right hand on the wheel and the left on my lady! (Insert cocky head shake)
Unless you are driving a manual and have to work a clutch it’s one foot.
My dad used to say “Driving an automatic isn’t driving…it’s steering.” That’s why I have owned 4 vehicles in my life and all except this last one were manual. The last one we just got what was on the lot because I had totaled the previous one on the GSP and needed a new one asap. Which was ironic because the steering had locked up on the Ford causing the crash. lol
The vehicles I have owned in my life. ‘68 Chevelle ‘88 Chevy Cheyanne sports side pickup. ‘00 Ford 1500 ‘07 Dodge Ram
