Mattel doesn't have access to alot of WCW's main eventers, mid carders, cruiserweights and tag teams. The MNW line was always going to be a bunch of repaints thrown into new fancy packaging. Then why even bother with this line if they don’t have access to the talent they need to have to make it great? … but it’s an awesome idea, on paper

That and with the crowdfunding it would of been an incentive to collect this line. There’s a sweet spot for us fans of the 90s. It also gives us the opportunity to get some of guys we want in specific attires without having to comprise the main line. The only issue is Walmart sucks. The Monday Night Wars was, imo, the biggest time period of wrestling. It brought us a lot of storylines that forever changed wrestling. I wish we could get some guys like La Parka, Buff Bagwell, Ultimo Dragon, Psychosis etc, but I’m okay with what we have signed. To an extent, we have most of the main players from WCW. Kind of crazy to think that 10-15 years ago we didn’t have Macho Man, Sting, Stevie Ray etc in a main line together. I think I’ll be buying the new premium Vampiro from the Lucha line to add to my WCW roster and maybe a few others if they’re in scale. It’s a great way to fill in the gap.

probably never see it since the first 2 sets are filled with those people are tired of leading them to sit on shelves and stores cancel orders on the sets people actually want due to lack of sales All six Ruthless Aggression waves and all of the Superstars Waves so far have made it to Walmart, eventually. *Some Walmarts. Not all.

They have a lot of former WCW Nitro talent that we presume to be under contract. Hogan, Hall, Nash, Syxx, Bischoff, DiBiase, Hennig, Rude, Ray Traylor, Luger, Eddie, Rey, DDP, Stevie Ray, Booker, Steiners, Bret, Anvil, Bulldog, Dusty, Funk, Sid, Piper, Bam Bam, Heenan, Jimmy Hart, Warrior, Keibler, Torrie, Ms Madness, Liz, and probably more. That’s at least 16 series worth of talent without repeats if they choose.

I am disappointed that they decided to do this when the two biggest names for WCW (Sting and Flair) are off limits to Mattel. So now I am just hoping I can find the Piper, Hitman, Hall & Hogan at Walmart and be done with the line.

Problem is (and I wish it was different) a lot of some of the lower tier WCW guys outside of figures there is no way to make money off of them. Like I’d love super calo, or Blitzkreig, but I don’t know how they would make any money off of them. That’s why we only get that top tier.

They've shown two and a half waves of this line, and it's been a total 50/50 split of WCW/WWF. It's waaaaay too early to complain, especially when we know there will be UE slots that figures like DDP would be a better fit for.
The WCW roster was massive and rotated wrestlers through a lot. You had a lot of international talent and journeymen/indy types that largely filled B/C shows. And a lot of their midcard never had much of a career beyond WCW (Alex Wright, Disco Inferno, Glacier, etc) and aren't good fits for the legends program that has always been very WWE focused.
It makes sense to be very top of card heavy, even tough it's a bummer to be missing bigger names like Sting, Jericho, and Flair. They're working in Harlem Heat in two new colors. Maybe we see some guys like Bulldog, Neidhart, or the Nasty Boys in their WCW attires or some NWO filler like Traylor, Rotunda, and Vincent. But I wouldn't call those iconic parts of the Monday Night Wars. Mattel seems to be making the most of who they have to work with.
Maybe we eventually get Meng and the Barbarian available. Kidman seems possible. Brian Clark was offered a legends deal years ago and passed. Bagwell's off and on headlines probably aren't helping his chances. And guys like Kevin Sullivan, Scott Norton, etc just really don't have any value to WWE to be worth signing.

Anyone else seriously disappointed in the WCW selection of Monday Night Wars sets, Booker T and DDP are probably the 2 most well known WCW guys outside of NWO yet they decided to not include them and we definitely could use more Booker T's, same could be said for The Steiners who are constantly asked for but Mattel chooses to drop the ball on past tag teams as also seen by The Dudleys and Road Warriors and act all shocked when the rights go away with how little they put out Dude relax. So many requested the debut Hall and he kicks off the line. Harlem Heat has been a desired want by so many. The UE Eddie has been a desired want by so many. Also, only 3 lines have been announced and Steve has said many times that this line is not finite (a la Ruthless Aggression and Decade of Domination). Why always need to nitpick, just let things play out.

Also keep in mind that these lines are planned out a year or two in advance and they were probably banking on the Nitro Stage to be funded with at the very least Rey and Hogan to have been unlocked and a good chance for DDP and Pump as well.

They are going to have to spread these out to last since they plan for this to be ongoing and not a defined limited time like the RA era line.

Dear Walmart/Mattelmart.
Put exclusives on the shelf.
Keep the mainline elite series on a shipper.
Make those 1 and done.
There I semi fixed the problem for you.
