Table takes up more space. Really wish the depth of the Besta and the look and doors of the Billy were an option.

I use IKEA besta shelves and would highly recommend. They’re a bit deeper than Billy. That's insane wow. If I could fit an entire elite scale ring on a shelf that would be a game changer. Didn't even consider the besta -- thank you! Are the shelves that the rings are sitting on native to the besta or did you add those on? They do fit on but overhang by 1/4 so I added some slim shelf extensions so it was sitting on something. I used the IKEA Skadis pegboard which worked really well.

Ah, so there’s no way of getting glass doors on the Besta. Damn. There goes that idea.
Guess I’ll be leaning towards the Billy’s.

Displaying a ring on a shelf was something I never considered and after seeing your photo it has inspired me to do the same. I will be sourcing some materials to extend a shelf to accommodate a ring instead of just placing the ring on a table or on the floor. Appreciate it!

Stole the idea for ring ropes from someone else's display I saw online a while ago. Got these two bookcases a while back via Facebook marketplace - blue one was like $20 and the red one was being given away. Don't even know if Ikea sell coloured ones like this anymore or not, but they seemed perfect.

Bumping the topic because I'm wondering for anyone who does use the Ikea Billy bookcase for their display, are you using risers on the shelves at all?
If so, which ones are you using? I have some Copco brand spice racks that were being used in my Detolf but placing two of them side by side to cover the entire shelf won't fit.
I'm interested in clear plastic ones but was curious to see if anyone is using risers too so I can get some ideas.

Yeah, I use spice racks. There's a 3 shelf white one (I forget the brand) that extends to cover almost an entire Billy shelf. I spray paint them black and they're good to go.

I’m not sure if they (expandable ones) are made in a clear plastic. I haven’t been able to find clear expandable ones for my Mezco/Mafex collection . Here’s a pic of the expandable white ones.

I use them. 34-ish per shelf. 6 shelves each book case. 204-ish figures per case. Thats somewhat spaced out and on homemade risers.

Thanks for the image. I believe that is the Copco one yeah. Where the rack extends, does that part have much of a difference in height? Like could you place a figure with one leg on each side of the rack and have it be standing straight? Or does the rack dip a lot from where it extends out? I'm just concerned that anything placed there will be tilted and could fall.

There’s a lip, but I just bend the leg on the higher side and stand them there. I think the Flair, Rude and Mean Gene are all on the lip. But they are tilted because I bumped into it when I was swapping out figures and didn’t fix them. On this shelf Hogan, Mr T and everyone beside them have one foot on each side
