And if they were staying faithful to the LJNs then I’d be fine with them completing everyone they can. But they’re not. Piper doesn’t have red trunks, Hart Foundation aren’t the same attire, Funk doesn’t have the green chaps. So since we’re getting different attires why not give us different characters too. Yeah, I wish they stuck closer to the original looks. Though if they ever get to guys like Don Muraco or The British Bulldogs, they would be very plain. Hopefully with Muraco they would include green strap IC and the tidal wave shirt along with the LJN Magnificent Muraco shirt

I can see your point. I’m displaying them MOC next to my LJN collection, and love the look, myself, but I recognize that it’s primarily for nostalgia and the packaging. And if they were staying faithful to the LJNs then I’d be fine with them completing everyone they can. But they’re not. This along with the lack of signed talent is where we are hitting the buffers…it’s going to be a very confused line with great packaging (which sometimes arrives damaged due to lack of protection in the post). I’d rather they have accurate ring gear anyway but especially if they’re not sticking strictly to the LJN look. Can see myself selling this part of the collection up fairly soon. I was on the fence about getting in, the packaging hooked me but I’m starting to regret it.

I was trying to do it as feuds. And Santana vs Valentine had a great series of matches for the Intercontinental championship back in the day. Same with Steamboat and Muraco they had a fun series of matches in the Mid 80’s. I see the connections, just not sure Mattel would see them as marketable enough, especially with both feuds being prior to the rock ‘n wrestling boom period. The rock n wrestling boom period very much started in '85. That's when mainstream attention blew up...Hogan on the cover of SI, Hogan & T hosting SNL, cartoon show, etc. Valentine/Santana feud transpires within that timeline. But I do think it's a little bit forgotten these days by most.

Between this and the thread about New Years Resolutions (lots of selling off/ being more selective about buying), I’m less and less hopeful about this line’s future. This line seems to be made for the most dedicated collectors, which is also those who are on this board. With a lot of mixed feedback (at best), it feels like the walls are closing in on this line.

I’d always thought their feud was earlier in the 80s, but since Savage won the IC title from Santana (right?), that would make sense.

Other than Valentine/Beefcake, these are unfortunately all likely fantasy- for now at least. I’d be in though!

Think the non-wrestlers are actually the most interesting. Huge Heenan fan so hope to see him in the line but Albano, Slick, Ventura, Mene Gene, heck, maybe Vince, all would be great.

I prefer the wrestlers in this collection, but if this line keeps going, I’d be up for expanding into the non-wrestlers too.

Big Rubber Guys just announced Jim Duggan, so hopefully that doesn’t mean Hacksaw is off the table.

It won’t happen due to it probably getting abysmal sales, but I KINDA want a Shiek/Volkoff set. Sheikie in his Purple/Blue shorts and Volkoff with a cloth “fur” hat and both a jacket and Shirt.

I would really like that set, except I’m not sure Volkoff is even still available (how long ago was his last figure?), and I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t/couldn’t do the USSR print on his shirt, which would really take away from this as an LJN figure homage.

Any word or has anyone heard when they will begin preorders for the coliseum Hart foundation? Thanks I believe I heard March or April some time last year which would track since they seem to be roughly once ever 6 months and the Roberts and Rude set hit in early March last year. It's possible the Piper/Steele delays push it back though

Thanks Nothing in quite a while since Steve said it would be “early 2024” back when the Piper/Steele set was coming out. I believe Roberts/Rude was last March, so I wouldn’t be surprised if this set comes out then too. But we haven’t even seen the MOC glamour shots yet. So…?
