So I just got my elite 105 Gargano figure and I had been hearing that some of his figures are coming out with "Johnny Gargano syndrome" in the legs. Can someone tell me if mine has this or not before I open it? Thanks!

Yes that is Johnny Gargano syndrome. But if you can’t tell yourself, why do you even care?

I’m hoping to find him in person so I can check the legs. I don’t want to deal with buying him online somewhere and having to deal with sending it back (if they would even let me).

I think it’s referencing the act of Mattel having to paint the rest of the kick pad design below Johnny’s knees because they intentionally gave him the wrong, short kickers.

I passed on it, but the Monroe WalMart had the corrected version last week when I saw Elite Series 105 there. And two days later the Monroe Target which is right behind Walmart put out a case and it had the one with the short boots. So both versions are out.

I found this picture on reddit of the first elite Kross and apparently he has the same problem, he has two sets of calves. It would explain why the second elite Kross figure is so much shorter, the problem was "corrected" but at the expense of his height.

I had kinda heard about it but didn't really understand it/pay attention up until now. If it means anything, I had heard of Johnny Gargano Syndrome for a long long time before I realized what it meant. All I knew was that I despised the early Mattel women's figures because "why do they have two sets of calves?"

Johnny Gargano syndrome means Johnny having too short boots. His original DIY elite had short boots. His 2nd elite had short boots but the kickpad design was painted all the way up to the knee so it looks like the equivalent of body painting your shins.. His 3rd elite (the Wolverine one) had tall kickpads that came up to his knee and thus were correct. This new elite reverted back to ahort boots and painted shins for some reason, but have a running change to give him the tall kickpads.
I hope that clarified things for people.

I mean it’s beyond ridiculous at this point.. Is it that they’re not fixing this cos when face gargano gets going he slides his knee pads down a bit which would be easier without the extra bit of kick pad.. I mean really really stupid but I’m just really curious if that’s what someone actually thought in the process of making his figures all like this.

how to share full quality photosUpdate: So I found Elite 105 today at Target and found another Gargano, this one with no Johnny Gargano syndrome so it seems these corrected ones might be hitting stores again.
