So hot about this. I'm glad we got a good run of Flairs. But, we should have even more. Savage, same thing. I'm thankful for what we got. But, that was just scratching the surface. Meanwhile, we got nearly every Hogan in the book. Its kinda disappointing to me that Mattel didn't find more ways to include big time Legends like Savage, Flair, Sting and Edge in more waves. In theory they could have, and should have, been pumping way more of them out given how even the casual fans are familiar with them much like they always churned out endless amounts of Cena, Reigns, Rollins, Styles, bald Rocks, etc. I guess they figured for a while that they had more time to cover their looks at their own pace, never expecting so many of these guys to end up no longer being associated with the WWE brand

It amazes me how he never once had brass knuckles accessories We are sorely missing some good ol fashion brass knuckles in the Mattel line in general (not counting the Cena branded Thuganomics ones.) Hopefully with William Regal back with the WWE now they find a way to get a figure of him out with soon removable dusters included, hell I'd even take a removable hand with molded on knuckles.

An Ultimate Starrcade 83 two pack with Harley would be my only want. Yeah, I was holding out hope for that when they originally released Harley as the King. Kinda sad they never bothered with this as it would've been a must have for me. It still boggles my mind how they haven't found a way to release a 83 Starrcade Harley Race yet, you would think it would have been a top priority for the design team after the way they lost Race's license for years the first time around. Gotta pump one out before the same problem potentially happens again

One positive is that Jazwares isn’t as limited as they have been with legends talent. Flair being NWA champion many times over a long period of time wrestled for several promotions not currently under the WWE umbrella. They can do most of his classic looks if they choose to. That being said, they’ll probably just do Flair’s Last Match and his Dynamite appearance. Have we ever gotten a direct answer from the JazWares team as to why they rarely if ever do any of the classic looks for the various Legends that they have under contract? Like I get that for some of the wrestlers they can't do their WWF/E looks, but in the case of certain guys like Sting, in theory his attires form his NWA days should be ok to do? I'm just curious as to why JazWares hasn't done any Surfer Stings or ECW Taz figures yet, and whether its a legal issue or moreso them not just wanting to do very many looks that aren't associated with the current AEW product. We have not, but I don't expect them to say. I think it is pretty clear that if it is a look that WWE owns the video from, they are not going to do it. Sting may say he owns his looks - and I am sure he does - but that wouldn't give them full license to do any look he had. Obviously the NWO shirt and the Wolfpac shirt couldn't be done by Jazwares. I know the TNA like did a few surfer Sting looks, but that was a number of years back and the times have changed so it is most likely too risky for them to even try.

Mattel is doing the same as Steve has said they won’t do attires for companies not owned by WWE. *I think also at the end of the day it’s a line that represents AEW. My guess is even if they were allowed to, TK probably doesn’t want to promote his main competitor by having figures representing WWE brands in a toy line with AEW on the packaging.

Losing Ric Flair was a big deal and huge blow to the line overall. That Monday Night War line is looking slim without Sting and Ric Flair. ...was it though? I mean, I'd rather have Naitch (and Macho and Edge) in the line than not - but at the end of the day, Mattel gave us loads of great figures of them over the years and covered all their major looks. The line will be fine, lol. I think it's just becoming popular these days to say "OMG... Mattel dropped the ball!" whenever they lose the rights to a big-name... The only time you could *possibly* say this was with Sting - and even then, I don't think they did (they covered all his main looks - not to mention things like Retro and MOTWWEU figures too).

You'd also think they would've been on top of it considering there's not many Harley looks they would need to make. You make the King, then there's maybe two different representations of him prior you would or could make. Then that's it. Wouldn't be hard to knock those out and just be done with it already.

Elite 92 was his last Mattel figure if I remember correctly. Also at that time I think I remember saying this might be his last Mattel figure. I think he had left again or maybe the Dark Side episode just came out or something
If they had the rights to him again, not to get another one out in a year and half is pitiful.

I NEED a WCW-era Manager Harley Race to go along with my Vader figure..... Yeah I am soooo mixed on this Ric Flair situation. As a life-long fan, part of me is glad that he's adding AEW to his "bucket list" of companies. But part of me also says "WTF" will happen next - AEW owns none of his career history.... honestly he looked downright frail on Dynamite.... where do we go with this? Part of me is wishing he just stayed back in WWE where we could keep getting career documentaries and new action figures. But this IS Ric Flair, and he'll never just "settle" unless he keeps us all guessing. I truly hope Tony Khan and AEW give us a few more memorable Ric Flair moments - whatever that amounts to be. I'm pleased that he's still alive and relevant in 2023. I'm not expecting any ground-breaking Ric Flair figures from Jazwares though..... so I'll just keep working on fixing up my collection. Hey, maybe I can give my wallet a break for a while..... Found this coat on a fella' named Sheamus in the clearance aisle at Target for $6 bucks.... decided to try something.....

I believe the Superstars was his last figure. He asked for his release shortly after these figs were revealed and then the Dark Side episode aired and WWE removed all images of him from their intro. All signs indicated those figs were gonna be scrapped but surprisingly they came out.

The only Flairs I want are WWE GM Ric Flair and Evolution Ric Flair in black trunks with either purple or red knee pads and boots and an Evolution shirt.

I think another factor for why Jakks was able to get a couple of Surfer Stings out while they were doing the TNA line is because they explicitly had the license to do NWA and NJPW figures, as evident by those company's logos appearing on the Legends of the Ring figures' boxes. I guess unless JazWares ends up doing a similar deal, we wont ever be getting those looks in the JazWares line. Though the Owen Hart and Corazon de Leon Jericho do give me a small glimpse of hope that maybe they can find a way to release a few Legend themed figures, albeit in less than mainstream attires

Well I don’t think the rights to boxing attire are as murky as they are with wrestling as I am sure they were 100% certain no one but the Ali estate could claim any rights to that imagery. And not claiming it’s a loophole but I am pretty sure Vince had the closed circuit PPV rights to the Inoki fight in the US. So there is that connection.

Ric Flair is one of my all time favorites, watching Ric Flair wrestle and cut promos was a massive part of my childhood. I would buy every Ric Flair attire in figure form if they made. That being said I honestly would have marked out big time if Mattel would've done a real Ric Flair deep cut and mad mid 70s Mid-Atlantic hippie Ric Flair.
