why in the world would they want to remake the worst wrestling figure line we've had in 30+ years Let us not go down that rabbit hole sir. They are actually the best thing to come out of jakks. Even then they were terrible

It would never be what fans of the original line would want it to be. If you desperately want BCA-style figures, I’d suggest supporting FC Toys and their “Bone Crushing Wrestlers” line. A small business like theirs needs it much more than Mattel, and the work they’re doing is as close to the original thing as there will probably ever be. I appreciate Mattel’s nods to the past via character and attire selection, as well as the card art for the most recent Retros wave, but I’m not sure the interest level is there for a full-blown attempt at recreating the figures themselves. Mattel already has the molds made for Basics, so the cost to produce an entirely new line would not be anywhere near as profitable, nor as proven, as what currently exists. Never say never right? Sure a Mattel BCA-esque line would likely be different in some ways from the Jakks one, but I wouldn't underestimate Mattel's ability to identify a business opportunity. Their job is to keep the wheels turning after all. Now, do I see a BCA inspired line happening anytime soon? No. There are too many things going on at the moment. But if Superstars or Retros wind down at some point who knows? I'm sure it's been discussed in private amongst their team. To dream a little bit, how cool would it be to see Mattel fill the holes with talent we never got in the BCA line like Macho Man, Jake The Snake or Ted DiBiase. Exploring a whole different era of talent in BCA form would be sweet. And of course, expanding on New Gen and Attitude Era talent that didn't get figures back then, as well as remaking/improving old figures would be awesome too.

Exploring a whole different era of talent in BCA form would be sweet. And of course, expanding on New Gen and Attitude Era talent that didn't get figures back then, as well as remaking/improving old figures would be awesome too. I wouldn’t rule anything out. If Retros and Superstars and LJN-inspired Ultimates could happen, theoretically, a BCA tribute line could be up for consideration. Maybe it already was and we just never knew about it. I think it would take someone in their 30s or 40s in a position of influence at Mattel with a passion for the line and a vision for the potential of it to hold its own alongside their other offerings, but I’m not so sure that person exists. It’s a niche within a niche, and I suspect it is/was a tough sell for anyone who isn’t that one person. Thankfully, FC will be tackling Savage, and from what we’ve seen, I think they’ll do an exceptional job with his likeness. Mattel could deliver some huge names, for sure. A complete Hart Foundation would be at or near the top of my wishlist. Terry Funk is another I’d want to see right off the bat. There’s nothing wrong with fantasizing, but I don’t want to get too carried away because reality is a harsh and bitter pill to swallow. If Mattel wants to stick to making subtle references to BCAs, I’m cool with that. Never thought I’d see it, so I’m grateful for the acknowledgement wherever or whenever it comes. They don’t have to do anything. It’s those little things that make me enjoy being a collector at this point in time. We all got our start somewhere and those memories are usually what inspire us and keep us invested in this hobby.

This seems like something Jakkswares should be doing with their AEW line instead of those (not) LJNs.
