This is where I’m at with it. He’s an absolutely great historian and I do enjoy the stories from his era, but he’s also harming the modern wrestling industry much more than the people he likes to put on an act and bitch about. He’s also hung up on a time that didn’t ever quite exist. I was a fan in the ‘80s. The only people who thought wrestling was legit then are the exact same crowd who think it’s real now, i.e. kids and the extremely gullible. That also means I’ve sat through hundreds of jobber squashes and ten minute Steve Lombardi vs. SD Jones slogs on Prime Time Wrestling, which makes the “flippy s***” seem like a gift from the gods in comparison. Exactly. My issue with Cornette is that he’s stuck in his time. Wrestling has evolved. It’s always evolved. It’s entertainment and HAS to evolve to survive. Hmm...... The guy has one of the highest-listened Podcasts..... because he trashes AEW shows (and some WWE shows).... and people are lining up to listen to him do it.... Stuck in his time? Sounds like a modern-day heel to me..... I think Cornette is playing everybody. And he's winning.

Jim Cornette isn’t a character on his podcast though. Nice try.

One of the all time greats and I'd love to have his figure in scale!

If anyone wants to disagree with you they haven’t listened to him before he reviewed current wrestling nor have they followed the progression of how he reviews shows over the years.

how old are you dude? It’s a starvin Marvin joke. May not be original or that funny even, but do you get offended at the wind blowing? People are so soft.

If people would stop to think(lol) and do a bit of research, they'd realize that it's an open secret that Corny has his working boots on during his podcast.
The fact that he can still work the marks in 2023 is truly a sight to behold.

Jim Cornette isn’t a character on his podcast though. Nice try. The man who lives and dies by kayfabe doesn't keep a "character" on his podcast?

I listen to his podcast a lot, but I'm not sure I'd buy an action figure, because he was never a big favourite of mine when he was active.

Jim Cornette isn’t a character on his podcast though. Nice try. In the "old days" of the NWA, Cornette made a lot of money by making people angry with his sharp promos..... In 2023, Cornette is making a lot of money by making people angry with his sharp podcasts..... You don't think he's laughing all the way to the bank?

how old are you dude? It’s a starvin Marvin joke. May not be original or that funny even, but do you get offended at the wind blowing? People are so soft. Thank you. He said the same line several times in the past and there was no backlash. It wasn’t meant to be a racist joke…only now when you associate “black” through Ethiopians (a starving region of Africa with Africans that are what we would consider black…obviously…with “fried chicken” which is a stereotypical meal of southern black culture…and people say “…ooooop look at that! It’s racist! He said a racist! Fired so fired!” Trust me, Jim wasn’t looking that deep into it at the moment. He said the same thing about Bubba way back in the day during a promo. Also, all those season 1-season 5 South Park episode would get them thrown off the air now. These kids talk about the attitude era, they wouldn’t last an episode before complaining about racism and mysoginy.EDITED TO ADD… Black people, Hispanic People. Gay people, trans people, and other minorities have been and still are treated like absolute crapin this country. You see it every day. And yes we need to work on that. The system is racist, it is true, and it needs to be completely reformed in some areas. But crucifying innocuous people for shitty little jokes isn’t the answer. Go after the real enemies, something that takes more work than dog piling on someone.

I've said my peace and I am proud of my stance. There is a reason no company will touch this man in 2023 and It feels good to be standing on the right side of history. Again...he can have a Mattel figure when I get my Mattel Ahmed Johnson.

He's crystal clear on that. Tony Khan made him an offer but Jim turned it down.

This will never happen. I'll buy and eat a Cornette shirt if he ever appears in a Mattel line. He only recently released his 40th anniversary 4-pack figure set, and spent ages on the podcast talking about how much money wrestlers lose to middle men and that he makes a lot more off the figures by selling them directly.
He has also made it painfully clear time and time again, that he will not do anything that ties him to either AEW or WWE as he won't be seen to be having an unbiased opinion if he does.

He done his time and is happy with being at home with his wife & dog. "The right side of history" 😂

I’d want Cornette in the red jacket and yellow pants most of all. Maybe with two heads, one with moulded glasses so they look more in scale with the face.

This is cute...Thanks for the interaction. Really, it means a lot guys. I do find it funny those "dog-piling" on me now are glossing over my second point. So I'll ask it flat out. Would you guys buy an Ahmed Johnson figure? I believe he would be a great addition to everyone's collection and is someone that is a lot less controversial.

Ahmed Johnson has nothing to do with a Jim Cornette action figure. So there's a reason people are glossing over that.
