Got mine ordered too, easy ordering process! I also listened to an interview with their co-owner, Mike Kanik, on Wrestling Figure News podcast. He suggested this series would be alternating with the Bendies line, new series of 2 figures every other month. Also, this and the next series would be “made to order,” to get a feel for production numbers, and that they have lots of legends signed and sets planned through 2024. Oh Man! This could be a Game Changer (and get expensive)! Thanks for listening!

Marty was posted just a bit ago. I hope for everyone’s sake that he is not in a nearly identical pose to the Demolition. http://instagram.com/p/Ct6pHD4On-_ The artwork looks fine. I can easily picture the sculpt based on it. A little weird without a Shawn to go with it. Hopefully it’s not a cheap substitute like Leif Cassidy.

I really hope the Major Pod guys branch off into other potential figure lines. Galoob, for the love of God, somebody make some Galoobs. Mini figures would be great as well, or a GI Joe style line.

But agreed, the concept art looks like he will have the Demolition pose. I was hoping for some mixing in other LJN style poses, like British Bulldogs, B. Brian Blair or Tito Santana. If/when they do a super-heavyweight, I’m hoping for the Bundy-pose.

Marty looks great. But I agree with others, they need to do different poses. It's a shame they can't get Shawn, he would be the perfect guy to pair with him. Do they have the rights to Haku? A King Haku would be a nice one. I don't think he worked with Marty or the Rockers much, but he was around in 1989, and would go nicely with Marty since the attire they chose also looks to be from 1989. Do we know who else they have signed? Do they only have guys who are signed under the bendies contracts? Or do they have access to who some of the other smaller companies have signed?

Of all these indie lines the majors bendies and these are really well done and also love that it’s a genuine pre order (to gage interest, order relevant amount etc), not pre order to fund the figures which seems to be the case with others.
My only real criticism with the bendies are the indie guys and girls. I get others want them but not for me.
This line so far has stuck to ljn era (apart from the majors themselves) and they explained on the pod why they did themselves first.
I hope they manage to find a creative way to get a partner for Marty since they can’t do Shawn…Maybe ‘a rocker named Sean’ similar to how they have ‘a referee named John’ lol.
What really stuck out for me in terms of their mindset was the bendies - having the card on the back like the originals but then also having a separate card in the pack so you can collect the cards without destroying the package. That’s a minor thing to some but it just shows the level of thought and care put into them. If other companies had thought of doing the bendies I doubt they’d put that thought or care to attention in. It’s those little details and considerations which make the difference imo

I’d be up for a King Haku. If I’m not mistaken, I believe he was slated to be in the “almost LJN” lost wave (based on the pics on the back of the black card final wave), likely as a repaint with the Harley Race crown.

Yeah, as far as I know, that King Haku never came out. Perhaps that makes it a good candidate for this line?

Yes, please! I'm surprised it hasn't been done yet on a large scale (there is one person making a few but they aren't very good, and the talent is mostly not known nationwide). Guys like: Brad Armstrong, Ricky Steamboat, Bobby Eaton, Paul E. Dangerously, Nikita Koloff, Terry Taylor, early DDP, The Young Pistols, early Bagwell, Scorpio, Van Hammer, Shane Douglas, etc. A lot would be limited due to copyright but there's a ton of options.

I can't believe nobody has tried it, either. They seem like pretty straightforward figures to produce. There's a guy on eBay who is 3D printing some customs, he's got Big Van Vader, Dusty Rhodes, Kerry Von Erich, etc, they look great, but I don't know if I want to spend £80 to actually find out. The Galoob line is aching for a comeback. Like you say, there's a ton of guys that could be made in that style. I'd love some Lucha guys or Japanese guys in the Galoob mold, Vampiro, Ultimo Dragon, Reyo De Jalisco, Great Muta, Jushin Liger...

Not that I didn’t appreciate the Galoobs back in the day, but getting this thread back on track for Big Rubber Guys- I’m hoping Jannetty is paired with another 1/2 tag team who seemingly can’t be completed, like Barbarian or Dynamite Kid (I know we already have an LJN Dynamite, but making Ax proves LJNs aren’t off limits). That said, part of the appeal of this line to me is completing teams we never had the chance to before, like Demolition and Powers of Pain. Isn’t it ironic that, early on, they are doing the same by making Jannetty when they can’t make Michaels? And no, Lief Cassidy wouldn’t count, at least not for me. Not trying to complain, I’m in for Jannetty regardless, just a thought.

Some WCW guys in LJN form would look great. I'd buy a couple depending on who they'd be. Same with Hasbro guys who never had an LJN but are realistic options. I'm sure Jeff Jarrett will get one ahs could look good if they choose a colorful attire. Massive amounts of indie names won't interest me at all.

A Galoob line would be interesting but I’m really not sure who I would want to see in that style. Maybe a handful of NWA guys and then pre-nWo guys as well. I do have Charapro Vader and Inoki mixed in with them so I guess there are a handful of guys I could see in that form factor. Having ex-WWF guys or even ECW guys might feel a little strange. If they look good though, I’m all for it. The more merch wrestlers can sell and make fans happy/collectors happy, the better.
I’m not sure if anyone has heard this address so if you have, please let us know: how are the paint applications on these being handled? Is it just like the old LJN’s where they are basically one solid color underneath and then have the paint applied to them (thus causing things like black noses)? If so, I wonder if they went with black or flesh tones for Ax and Smash.

Maybe it’s just because that’s what they were in the early waves, but it didn’t bother me when paint chipped as much as the later figures in black or other tones (like Honky Tonk Man, who is seemingly becoming Zombie Tonk Man in my collection).

Might be the wrong spot to post, but… If you like these check out XOXbyRandomTreasures on Etsy. Oddly enough I had gotten my Demolition customized just like the BRG chase versions…

I just started listening to the latest Major Wrestling Pod, and they said that the other Big Rubber Guy with Jannetty in the upcoming set will not be Michaels or Lief Cassidy, but would be an 80’s guy. They went on to say they only have one current wrestler in the pipeline, mostly legends, and reiterated the 2 figures every other month plan. I am SO looking forward to building this collection!
On a side note, it amazes me how long it has taken for a company to continue the LJN figures “correctly.” Kudos to the Major Wrestling Team for doing justice to these classic figures. I would not be surprised at all if other companies follow in their coattails once this line takes off!

Producing around 12 a year is really cool. Yikes at $1200 if you are a completist though. I’m trying to remember if they said anything else or note on that episode. Matt had (half-jokingly) floated the idea of a blonde Marty but Brian wasn’t on board (not that it was that serious of a pitch).
