The Flair will be interesting because it's an entirely new body mold for them. Interested to see how it comes out

I’m hoping they can eventually give us DiBiase and Honky Tonk Man in wrestling attire, though they seem to be locked in to Mattel/WWE long term.

Flair’s attire could be better. I’m fairly confident that this is the first of several Flair’s. At least one robed version and a version in trunks would make complete sense.

I agree with you on the packaging. I was hoping for something more nostalgic, like the Coliseum Collection. Still loving the figures, but I’m undecided on whether to go MOC or Let ‘Em Breathe! We don’t want to copy what’s been done to death. With the JAKKS LJN, the chalkline LJN, the Mattel coliseum collection, and the aew LJN.

And more importantly, thank you for this beautiful line!

The LJN tribute and the Bendies both are fantastic. They are doing great work.

I get that -- I meant this will be your first figure in suited attire, which seems harder to mold/sculpt. But I'm excited to see how it comes out

No pun intended. We don’t think so. We are paying homage with the style figure. We want to create our own legacy. Everything can’t be living in the past.

On one hand I get what you are saying, on the other hand I feel like most people would prefer something that would fit better with their other collections should they choose to display these MOC. It’s harder at this point to have used a Remco, JusToys, and LJN style of figures and then say you want to create your own legacy/not live in the past. Packaging specifically, only the Bendies line has replicated the 90’s style…and you guys found ways to make that your own. In my opinion, the execution of that far exceeds the BRG packaging in terms of appearance and creativity even while using someone else’s template. The current BRG packaging is fine in its shape and form factor but the background looks like an uninspired placeholder. The name card/front image doesn’t have too many complaints from me but a change in font, line art, or even color could make a big difference.
Maybe you are very committed to this design for whatever reason but I would like to see the feedback if you posted to various social media outlets to see what the majority had to say if presented with the option of either keep it as-is or alter it to a more nostalgic style.

I’ve now seen some YouTube reviews of the first Big Rubber Guys, and am coming around on the packaging. My primary toy collecting has been modern style detailed figures on throwback packaging (WWE Coliseum Collection, Marvel Legends, Star Wars Black Series original trilogy anniversaries), but I’m ok with this being my one flipped collection- vintage style figs with more simplified, sleek modern packaging to let the attention be on the figures themselves. I would still prefer something more throwback, but the figures are definitely the standout here. I cannot wait to get Demolition in hand, then Jannetty, Andre, and any other 80’s WWF guys upcoming!

We aren’t doing ljn style packaging. It’s overkill. It’s been done. We’re just not. 2 companies are currently doing it lol

We aren’t doing ljn style packaging. It’s overkill. It’s been done. We’re just not. 2 companies are currently doing it lol Having listened to this week’s show today, I’m reminded of the part where you quoted Eric Bischoff: (paraphrasing) “there is is greater than, different than, and less than. This feels less than.” These are suggestions to try and improve the products. They aren’t an attempt to tell you what to do. Please read them as an opinion. The hope would be to create happier customers with the end result leading to better sales for you and your team. I get that Jazwares and Mattel are doing clone-like packaging design though I’m not sure Mattel should be involved much in this conversation as I doubt most MOC LJN collectors would display their LJN’s next to their Mattels. There may not even be that big of an overlap. If Mattel started packaging Ultimates like Hasbros, I’m not sure if people would be displaying them side-by-side. But Hasbros and Retros do display nicely together as do prettt much every Hasbro-style figure that is being produced today. If Mitch switched to a PowerTown style box just because everyone else was doing the Hasbro-style packaging, his figures wouldn’t display as nicely next to the others on the market. But I digress. Not that I expect to sway you overnight, but a more pleasing aesthetic could be achieved by making the crowd blue and the font red (or even the dead space blue with the crowd black). That would lend itself better to a MOC collection with or without the black series. The current design is easily distinguishable from all other products on the market already; these are just some small ways in which it might be made better without the feeling of forcing something that is on-brand.

I think it’s time to move on from the packaging convo. On to preorders! Will we get reminder emails (if subscribed), and/or heads up on here prior to preorders coming up? Does the plan remain to do preorder time periods, like Demolition? Truly no disrespect meant to Cardona and Myers, but I’m thinking guys like Andre and maybe even Jannetty would go faster if only available in limited quantities in a first-come first-served capacity. Thank you again for your involvement on this thread!

Thank you again for your involvement on this thread! Packaging isn’t changing to copy LJNs. It’s just not. There will be plenty of notice about August Pre-orders. We got Marty proto and mystery man proto in hand today. They are amazing! It will be a limited window to order like Demolition. We aren’t looking for anybody to “go faster.” We are trying to grow this company and get as many sold as possible. Will we ever do more limited ones? Probably. But our plan right now is to grow! Thanks for your support!

Thanks for reminding me that the past is over. That’s not what I want to read in a thread aimed to collectors of nostalgic toys. I am almost 40, married (granted, she’s hot) and a father of more children I can openly admit. Please, let me live in the past as much as possible.
Personally I don’t really care about the packaging as I love to have these as a loose addition to LJNs (I don’t have a MOC collection as the money goes into the hot wife and all those kids). What I would really appreciate though, is some kind of bio card or even better a nostalgic poster matching the ones from the past as I highly enjoy collecting these posters. I wouldn’t mind it being a download and have to print it myself.
