Any word from the Mattel guys if these will come with ring jackets Based on Renders shown, and each including 3 heads and 2 belts, I would doubt it.

Play it safe next time. Andre the Giant 2 in 1 with blue trunks and an afro headscan, but molded headscan, not that monstrosity of an earlier attempt at his afro headscan. And of course normal headscan from LJN series 2. And Iron Shiek from series 1 with the shorts.
Still want to see Magnificent Muraco, Karate Ricky Steamboat, Brutus Beefcake and Greg Valentine in the line though.
I am more open to seeing Big John Studd in the line as technically the coat he wore in the elite legends 11 is from his 1989 run. If they used the coat that he wore from his 1984 run I would be interested but would prefer Iron Shiek or Muraco for the heel role.
Orndorff isn't necessary. It wouldn't have new accessories from his elite figure to justify it being in the series. Same as Junkyard Dog.

Let’s hope it does continue in this way.
Some really good figures coming from this line, it’s fast becoming my favourite line in the collection. Really looking forward to Pre Ordering Piper and Steel in the coming weeks and then hopefully The Hart Foundation next.
I’m excited for this line

Very confused at the direction of this line, some figures stick to the original LJN attire, some don't. Personally, for me, this line would be best to stick to the original LJN attire as much as possible or stick to the attires that the original LJN figure was based from. For the Hart Foundation, this would have been the perfect opportunity to stick to the original attire the LJN figures were based off of to get out their earlier, heel tag team run. Then do the later, Babyface Hart Foundation run in the RSC exclusive UE tag team set. This should have been their 1986/87 attire without the heart on the tank tops, the one black stripe down the leg, and the silver tag team titles. Since the Hart Foundation didn't have any accessories at the time, including the original LJN tag titles is a nice touch. If they wanted to, they could have included the leather jackets they wore at the time, though they didn't wear them often. Then for the UE Tag Team line, do one of their 1990/91 attire look with the heart on the tank top, a different design for their tights than what was used for the elites, and then add the gold tag team titles and Sgt. Pepper-style jackets.

But seeing as it was an obvious choice to include, they could have just kept it simple and went exactly with their LJN look. With no pink hart and just a simple black line on the side of their tights. It's what the people who wanted them in the line wanted. How did they screw it up? It was almost fool proof to execute. It's like they thought to design Bret Hart in his first Hasbro look and then seeing that we didn't get Anvil in a Hasbro Hart Foundation look, they will make that. No...it's not what people wanted. Im Sorry but this forum almost makes their job easier. They have easily accessible feedback to how people that are interested in your product want your toys to look, and how they want the finished article to look.

I find myself asking that question more and more these days. I agree with you, I think for this line, people would have been fine with the simple attires. The fact that they added both the real WWF titles (though they should be silver) and the LJN tag titles was a nice touch and would have satisfied most collectors even with the simple attires. Also, if you're going to update it and go with a different attire, why do the basically the same ones as the elites that were already released? The Hart Foundation had a few different attires during that run, at least go with something else. Other than the design of the heart on the tank tops, it's the same exact attire.

I don't have an explanation for it. Doesent match the LJN timeline at all. The hairstyle used for Bret Hart was accurate if you look back at his promos at the time, but wrong attire, and obviously wrong facescan.

I just finished watching the WWE Mattel SDCC panel. Steve announced the Piper/Steele set would go up for order 9/26, and that the Hart Foundation set includes the brown LJN style tag belts (yay!) and era accurate *silver* tag belts. So I guess the renders shown are wrong?

Rude is a mash up, piper has wrong color trunks and now hart foundation are just re-releases of their elites. This line is just ultimate legends under the coliseum collection banner. Very disappointing!

No. But I noticed the figures they displayed had straight limbs, so likely resin and so early in the design process. Maybe if we “constructively criticize” loud enough, things can still change? I would definitely prefer the LJN attires personally, plain as they were.

They can’t sign anyone. Mattel can only work with talent that are signed under a WWE or WWE Legends contract.

I know that. But they need new legends in this line or resigned legends that haven't been used in a few years for this to be the line that fans want it to be. Otherwise it's just going to be repaint city with the same talent used and that's the direction it's going in. Im Sure that Ozer and Mikeina have a passion and a vision for this series that doesent include using the same talent dressed up in a different way. For me keep it simple in the next series - put Andre and Iron Sheik in there next it Andre and Big John Studd. I would be satisfied with that. But eventually you will need Hillbilly Jim, Tito Santana, King Kong Bundy reintroduced, guys that fans haven't been able to get their hands on the Mattel version of them for a few years.

Personally, I really like what they're doing with the line - they seem to be releasing figures that pay homage to the original LJN ones, while not being exact copies/reproductions. I didn't want Terry Funk in green chaps or Roddy Piper in red trunks... I'd rather have their more well-known looks. Basically, as long as the attire is from the '84-'89 LJN period, that's fine by me.

Personally, I’d have preferred Piper to have the red ringer shirt, but I might end up displaying him in his trunks now. Don’t get me wrong, I totally understand people who want Ultimates identical to the LJNs, but if this is our only chance of getting some of these characters in Ultimate form I don’t mind the changes to try and be more representative of looks most fans think of for those talents.

I will say tho guys these Hart Foundation attires are slightly different to the elites. These are actually based from wrestlefest 1988 where as the elites were mania 6!

Me too... it's the iconic Piper shirt. While we're at it, I'd have preferred his red kilt too - all the photos of him on the back of the LJN card (and 16" figure) have him in the red kilt - and it was more comon for that time period.
