Tbh I think we could have gotten a great rivalry with these guys, the matches, promos, segments etc could have been good stuff.
Foley started to wrestle again in 04 but Brock left, if he stayed we could have gotten a feud/match with em between 04-08.
If Foley returned between 02/03 then we could have gotten it then, or if Foley returned anywhere between 2012-2022 then that could have been a possibility.

A non PG bloodbath between Foley and Lesnar would've drew in millions.
Had Lesnar not left in 2004 these two would definitely have crossed paths. It would've been better than Foley's matches with Orton & Edge.

Maybe if Foley was around late 2002 and the two were given a HIAC or something but by 2004 they were on completely different wavelengths. |

Meh I don’t think it would be as good as everyone thinks.
I’d rather take Foley/Orton & Foley/Edge any day of the week.
I just don’t see their styles meshing as well. Foley’s strength is making the fear in his opponents facial expressions believable. Being the dangerous guy getting comeuppance on the cowardly heel. Brock being afraid of something at that point was just not believable story. They tried it with Hardcore Holly of all people and it was some of the worst Smackdown TV in its near 25 year history.
It would have just been a monstrous Brock beating the tar out of a past retirement Foley. I’m not buying into the story.

Not something I'd ever thought about if I'm honest but I definitely wouldn't have preferred it to Orton/Foley.

Foley vs. Lesnar does nothing for me.
Foley had the right opponents with Orton in 2004, Edge in 2006, followed by his matches with Funk and Dreamer, and then Flair.
Lesnar vs. Foley on paper just seems odd and doesn't connect with me at all for that era.

I couldn't see it happening. Foley was great in feuds to establish the next top stars. So it would have to be before Brock won the WWE championship.
Afterwards, there'd have been no point. It would have been a quick one and done thing, not a feud at all.
If it were to happen, Foley would have had to have been a massive threat. Which means in his prime prior to 1999 and as Cactus Jack, or sadistic Mankind to create a sense of danger.
Foley as the underdog babyface would have been a bit lacking unfortunately.

I imagine it would be more of a toll on Mick than HIAC ‘98 and Rumble ‘99 combined. This match would put him in early retirement for sure.
He’d probably let Lesnar F5 him off the cell straight to the floor, no table and then an hour later when he’s recovered, he climbs back up the cell where Lesnar is still waiting after constantly doing that pumping himself up dance thing that he does, and letting him get F5’d through the cell and landing on a bed of nails with Lesnar dropping a few bowling balls on him from above and when the medics come to take Foley on a gurney, Brock chains his arms down on it and smashes his head in with a legit iron bar.
Also during the match, Mick’s only offensive move is a mandible claw with his sock, but Lesnar just bites through his hand, taking Mr Socko’s head off and spits Foley’s fingers out at him like bullets.

I would definitely have liked it. I would hope that - out of respect to the man - the E would have let Mick get one victory, if they had had a feud that would have gone, say, three matches in total (like the Brock/Triple H feud of 2012-2013). If it had happened in say, 2004 - a time when Mick's body could have handled some punishment - you have Brock dominate, throw Mick around in a believable, violent way. Then Mick could use weapons, elbows off the apron (in old school Cactus Jack fashion), etc. to get some offense of his own in. Have at least one match be No DQ, a Street Fight, etc., and that could be the one where Mick gets the win. In the others, obviously, Brock gets the W.
I think it would have been a feud that would have drawn money.

He's meant to be wild and hardcore not making matches in a suit top. By 1999 Foley had mellowed big time. He became the loveable underdog who the fans rooted for. Apart from his RR 2000 match everything else was fun and comedy. Edge called him a cuddly teddy bear and he was right. |
