I’ve never bought one in this line but I’d love a Honky in a white jumpsuit

Question for ya’ll. I recall from Mania that Steve suggested series 4 of this set would be revealed at SDCC, while series 3 (Piper/Steele) will be available in the Fall. I know series 4 *could* wait until next Spring to actually be available, following this year’s pattern with series 2 (Roberts/Rude). But, that set wasn’t revealed until last Fall after the series 1 release. So, my hope is that series 4 also comes out this year. What do you think? This is my favorite Mattel line, but it only being twice a year is brutal! And on that note, are we optimistic it will continue beyond the likely Macho, Bret, and Warrior “anchors?” hoping series 4 is either Hart Foundation or has Macho Either works for me, I’m just hoping it doesn’t have to wait until next Spring

I’ve never bought one in this line but I’d love a Honky in a white jumpsuit Me too. I agree that would look great, but given that this line generally keeps with the LJN looks (except for Funk, for some reason), I’m guessing that if we get him he’d be in the blue jumpsuit again.

As far as anchors, there are definitely more. Andre would be one. It's possible Steamboat and/or M$M (maybe even HTM or Iron Sheik) might be considered anchors. There still is another Hogan that they can do too if Hulk rebounds and starts to move merch again in 2024. I feel like Harley Race (paired with JYD) could be an anchor based off of the built up demand from the elite saga, but not sure if Mattel would risk it.

Yeah, I wondered if DiBiase, Honky Tonk Man, and Sheik could be considered anchors, as all do tend to get multiple figs and other merch. I know Hogan and Andre are definitely anchors, but Hogan’s already been in this line and Andre’s seemingly most marketable look has already been done as an Ultimate. The more the merrier for me, and I wouldn’t need “anchors” to buy a set, personally.

Re: the Honky Tonk jumpsuits, since they're going to be cloth, they could include the white as a bonus. This way everyone besides MOC collectors get s the best of both.

I’ll weigh in on this question for you in case Steve doesn’t respond in the Q&A MattelDesignTeam - Could we get a CC Mr. Perfect & The Genius set sometime in the not to distant future? CC are based off the LJN line. Hennig and Poffo didn’t have LJN figures so it’s highly unlikely they would appear in this line.

True. I just can’t see the Genius getting released in any other line.

True. I just can’t see the Genius getting released in any other line. If he’s ever under a deal, he doesn’t really need to be UE. An elite in the Legends line is fine with me

I also wouldn’t be surprised if somewhere down the road they end up doing a Hasbro version of this line to get some of those niche late golden age/early new gen characters UE figs.
*for some reason I coulda swore there was a genius Hasbro.

What a preposterous proclamation you have presented! A Genius figure would need the awesome articulation adapted by the Ultimate line. Simply see the Oct 31, 1989 Saturday Night's Main Event for what I mean, sir. The Genius requires a fabulous, fully accessorized figure that the WWE fandom would fall for.

Hate to say it, but if Savage is no longer under a Legends deal, Poffo having reportedly been the one in charge of his estate may mean that his Legends deal is also expired. I’m hoping both become options again sooner than later!

I say the smartest man in the World Wrestling Federation should settle for no less than the most articulation.
And plenty of accessories for this great academician - He'd be a fine contender for an Ultimate Edition.

An elite in the Legends line is fine with me UE Genius, cap & gown, scroll, with a Leaping Lanny fro head, and frisbee. A 2-in-1 Ultimate. Plus, as others have said, Lanny was very bendy in real life, so his figure should be too.

She has an agency handling the licensing of his name and likeness.

Lifted from the AFA Q&A Thread: MattelDesignTeam - Could we get a CC Mr. Perfect & The Genius set sometime in the not to distant future? Do people still not understand that the Coliseum Collection Line is ONLY based on original 80's LJN figures?

I would love to see a Genius figure -- wondered if they could sell well enough. So niche, but he is a very visually appealing character with the accessories. GREAT gimmick that was highly underrated in my opinion - Lanny was a talent
